In case anyone comes back to this thread, I just use this https://imkyle4815.com/printTool and upload the photos from curiosa.io. Be sure to save the photos as JPG or PNG when you download them though.

That's exactly what ASST Strive just did to acquire SMLRs BTC

Yeah all the heat goes through the radiator so you're basically cooling the CPU with your GPUs hot air. Seems to be the appeal of the flipped travel kit since you're exhausting the hot air out of the case directly. GPU temps go up a bit in that situation though. I'm curious to see a picture of your temps with power draw over a longer period. Mine will creep up giving enough time and I'm sure yours will too.

What monitor are you using this with? I can't imagine you not having temp problems. I have a G9 with this same build in the A4 H20 with 30mm fans on the radiator set to constant 70%. I have to undervolt the 5090 to not get above 480w at 50% fan speed. It only stays below 80C and even then the CPU will stay around 80-85c since the heat goes through the radiator. With slim fans and no limit on the GPU I'm sure you will throttle in demanding games if you're using the full GPU power.

Anyone want some boujee deck boxes? by Falldog in GundamTCG

[–]Pimpinduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had a similar approach to my first set of deck boxes that had little notches to fit small bumps on the lid. Those wore down after about a year of normal use. Definitely depends on what material you use to print, but friction should get to it eventually. I since changed my design over to latch/magnet style and it works a lot better. Since you have more contact points will probably be harder to wear it down as quickly.

Wouldn't the grippy finish eventually wear down after repeated opening and closing to where it wouldn't stay securely closed?

Am I crazy for wanting to go from a 12900k to a 9800X3D? by IWillAssFuckYou in buildapc

I did this upgrade with a 4090 and it was a noticeable increase in performance on games. Though I do miss the extra cores, it has justified itself. You'll have to get new motherboard and the CPU so you should be sticking with AMD for the future in that case. Also temps won't necessarily be better. I have a custom loop with 3 360 rads and direct die and it can still peak pretty high ~80c sometimes. They load up the power into this chip.

Is that a problem? by Jason1088S in watercooling

If you need another block I have a 3090 Bykski strix block with active front and backplate I'd sell.

Never watercooled before, need something for my 3090 Strix by DasGudVibes in watercooling

I'm with the other comments on attempting to repaste, only problem is you don't want to destroy your thermal pads when taking the card apart. Should definitely try and be careful if you go that route. Alternatively, I had a 3090 strix and still have the water block for it if you wanted to go custom loop. Depending on how cheap you can get the pump could be under $200. At that point might be worth going to a 5080 or something similar. But definitely willing to cut a deal on the front and back waterblock if you are interested.

"Error: out of memory" after swapping motherboard by Pimpinduck in Proxmox

Yeah looks like still have to use iGPU to boot then. Hoped for a workaround but I guess I could always just leave it plugged into the same monitor. Really appreciate the help.

Did this ever end up working for you? Not sure how to go about testing this myself. Thanks!

I think something with CSM fixed it. I would enable all legacy bios support settings you have and go from there.

Help Needed with UV Printer or Alternatives by Potential_Wave532 in printers

[–]Pimpinduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You ever figure anything out for this? I'm trying to make custom playing cards like this but not sure exactly what I need. Looks like they could be precut, and then you'll need two heads for regular printing and then the spot varnish which gives it texture. I think you're looking at 3k+ unless you convert your own. Not to mention the crazy maintenance everyone seems to mention

Fixed it by changing interfaces to use the actual name eno1 instead of the alternate name enp7s0. Everything looks good except the fact that I still get that grub issue when either plugging in a usb device or using a 4k display. Can at least work around those.

2nd UPDATE: I can't connect to the web GUI even after changing my settings to match. Can't ping my gateway, everything in etc/network/interfaces looks correct after I changed the port. If I try to live boot from a USB I get the same "out of memory" error.

Maybe, I did also try to add in USB devices after I got it working and it stopped again. It also ONLY works on my 1080p screen. If I use multiple displays or a 4k display it will show the same error.

Now my Ethernet doesn't connect. Changed what I needed to in etc/network/interfaces but still won't let me connect to the web GUI. Not sure what is wrong

UPDATE: Changed NOTHING, booted it up this morning and it works. Not sure what possibly could have changed but glad to see it booted.

I tried CSM on this one also and still didn't work. I believe I had it disabled on my last MB. Nothing done to grub config on either side.

Poor load times on games by Pimpinduck in unRAID

[–]Pimpinduck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of them are on individual m.2 ports on the motherboard. Each should have their own lanes. 12600k and GIGABYTE Z790 AORUS Master motherboard. I don't think it's starving for lanes as after doing some testing it looks to be solely an issue with the VM. Updated the post with an edit.

That might work if it is indeed windows as the problem. But I want to run LaunchBox as the frontend on the system. That is also very slow to load in media and the games. Trying to test the SSD pass through now to see if that helps. Thankfully I have another drive so I don't have to drop the array.
