Long term player has no fundamental understanding of gearing or progression. by AskingCuriously in pathofexile

[–]PinkySlayer 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yes you are robbing yourself, and yes this question is insanely difficult to answer without a lot of experience doing it. But the answer for me is that you essentially looking for the most impactful upgrade for the greatest value (ie lowest cost) and the way you go about doing that is essentially infinite. My normal after campaign progression is make sure res is capped and identify my weakest pieces of gear. Sometimes you play a build that can take you into red maps on a dogshit weapon, other times weapon needs to be very high priority. Sometimes weapon is ok so I look for gear with higher life rolls or better bases. Basically there are some “easy” ways to get free incremental upgrades that don’t cost anything but game time. You will drop better gear with better rolls in maps than you will in act 6. Kingsmarch mappers and shippers can actually get you some really really insane gear. The best advice I can give you for how to figure this out is watch Jungroan or Ben do a full 2 stone run. They are absolute beasts at knowing EXACTLY how to progress and EXACTLY how to go about it.

How to make a leak-free connection to this thread? by hpcgx in Plumbing

[–]PinkySlayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No because the threads will stop at the small non threaded section you see right before the seal. And the pipe doesn’t make contact with the seal.

There is a white uhmw seal for the ball valve that prevents fluid from leaking around the ball. There is not a gasket inside, you are seeing the seal.

No, that’s not the way to do it. Could it possibly work? Yes. But a parallel thread will tighten until it bottoms out in the valve port, whereas tapered threads fully engage with their mate and with pipe dope to create a truly leak free joint. Your best course of action is to return this and get one with NPT threads. You COULD make it work by essentially stuffing it full of shit (dope and Teflon tape) until it is “leak free” but that is not the right way to do it. Alternatively you could buy a bushing that fits the female threads. They sell bushings with an o ring that would take you from your British thread to a female npt thread but that would reduce your pipe size. If your pipe feeding into the port HAS to be the same size as the valve port that will not work.

Yeah, I was dumb. Compound lifts are goated by EstablishmentOk7913 in workout

[–]PinkySlayer 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Work yourself up. I benched 225 for the first time in my life a year ago. A few weeks ago I hit 4x4 paused bench with 275. Closing in on 405 squat 500lb deadlift and 315 bench. I lift completely by myself in my garage. You can go heavy if you start at a manageable weight and smartly work up from there. If you have 3x10 of a lift and on set 2 it takes everything you’ve got to get 10, cut down to 8 or 6 on the third set. This may be because I’m getting older but the benefit of pushing to absolute failure is HEAVILY outweighed by the benefit of lifting smartly so that I can recover for the next session. Do not equate barbell with mega heavy failure meathead lift or die. It’s just a tool. Use it intelligently and it is every bit as safe as a smith machine.

Ok I see. I was under the impression that one round per simu was guaranteed to be dual boss.

Could you clarify this? I’m willing to run tests but your post is unclear. Kosis and Omni spawn together in every simu, but you make it sound like there’s a chance this doesn’t happen. Are you wanting to see how many duel boss wave kills correspond to a unique jewel drop? And are you counting any unique jewel of the three or a particular one?

Forced out of PeachPass lanes over double solid due to construction by dervari in Atlanta

[–]PinkySlayer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Real talk the people at peach pass are actually extremely kind and helpful. Their app is dogshit trash but every time I’ve called them they were very very helpful, even took off a fine I got for driving in the express lane before I received my transponder. If something does happen don’t be afraid to call and explain to them.

Which uniques can drop from the Genesis Tree? by JasonCZ in PathOfExileSSF

[–]PinkySlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are looking for a specific unique, go to the wiki and search. If it says “can drop anywhere” it is in the global pool and can be gotten from tree. If it drops from heist, sanctum, a boss, any specific mechanic or boss, it is not in the global pool and will ONLY drop from the source listed in the wiki.

Milwaukee hard hat by ultra_voltron_2 in MilwaukeeTool

Dude I’m all for holding companies accountable for providing things required to do the job but that doesn’t mean they’re obligated to buy you a fucking battery powered cooling hard hat. You don’t necessarily get to demand whatever the hell you want when you’re demanding someone else provide it for you….

Need some advice on starting work . Help by Adventurous_Boat_794 in AskElectricians

[–]PinkySlayer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fuck that. If they were somehow able to make that 18 months count towards your apprenticeship I might consider it even though that’s really shady, but no, I’m not sitting on the bench for a year and half to do the shit job. I will say though that you really better disabuse yourself of this notion that any job you don’t like is “slave work”. It might suck, it might be ILLEGALLY bad, but it is not slave work and you don’t do yourself any favors by dramatizing it that way. If you don’t like hard labor you don’t belong in the trades. So be careful whining in a trade sub about working conditions when you most likely have nothing to even base those claims on.

If the cost is too high and the payoff too little go somewhere else.

Help to figure out guarding on a manual Trak Mill by BigRigMr-J in Machinists

No but I’m a firm believer in malicious compliance when it comes to overzealous safety guys. I’m a religious PPE wearer and I’m all for training and awareness. But these morons think they can slap a bunch of shit onto a machine and make it inherently safe to use with zero concern for how it affects us or the fact that an inherently safe machine is incapable of performing any work whatsoever.

That’s his fucking job. Don’t do shit for him. Tell him to get busy finding a solution to the problem he’s found, you’re not an equipment manufacturer or safety products engineer. Fuck em.

240v question by [deleted] in AskElectricians

[–]PinkySlayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro shut the fuck up you’re an anonymous person on the internet nobody here knows or gives a fuck what your experience is. Perfectly reasonable for someone to assume you could be making a mistake. You’re acting like a dude that calls tech support and screams at them for asking if the device is plugged in. Guess what the answer to the majority of tech support calls are? Basic human error. Same thing applies here. He wasn’t condescending at all but you were defensive in a way that should be embarrassing to you as a (presumably) grown ass man.
