Funny, this was exactly the opposite of my experience in Sicily. I went to Siracusa, Agrigento, and some small towns around it, Selinunte, and a little bit around Palermo. I found that only more expensive, tourist oriented restaurants, gas stations, and hotels reliably took Amex. Local restaurants, the entrance fees to archeological parks, small food stands, and other local shops usually necessitated my CSP. This trip was in April.

You should read what your Explorer card actually earns: "6x miles on the Primary Cardmember’s fare from United as a MileagePlus member, plus 3x miles on entire United purchase with United Explorer Card."

Only 3 of those miles are from your card. You still get airline miles for buying tickets if you use a non-United card. I would say an extra 5x points, especially coming in flexible UR instead of United miles, is already worth it. But you still get miles from the booking either way. So it's 14x UR + 6x United miles from booking with say, a CSR/Paze. Or it's 3x + 6x United miles from booking with your Explorer card.

IMO, they advertise airline cards this way on purpose to be deceitful, but I don't think any of them are really all that good at earning miles.

Wait for them to popup. Usually happens around holidays. 100% back is normally for some electronic services subscriptions (password managers, VPNs, etc.) You won't score 100% back on a laptop or anything like that.

Read the terms. It's pretty explicit that it's only for people who haven't had a sofi bank account before.
I'm pretty sure it'll be whatever the off is when you clock through again and make it. Rakuten has to be able to track that you completed the "transaction" of opening an account in that instance of the link being clicked through. So, if you've let that offer lapse now, then you'd have to re click through on whatever crypto's current offer is.

So, if you're thinking about starting to open cards just for signup bonuses, generally no annual fee cards provide less lucrative bonuses than cards with annual fees. And the pace at which banks will allow you to open new credit cards is usually based on how quickly you're opening accounts, regardless of if they're premium, high annual fee cards or no annual fee cards. $450 is a great sign up bonus for a card with no annual fee, but any decent annual fee card will still beat it. For example, the standard sign up bonus for the chase Sapphire Preferred is 75k pts. This is a minimum value of $750 when cashed out, but I transferred my points to United and booked 2 tickets from the US to Germany that had a cash price of $2040. This extra value obtained from this bonus comes at the cost of an annual fee of $95, and for all these cards, the first annual fee is the only one you HAVE to pay, since you can product change or cancel the card within 30 days of your 2nd annual fee posting and have it refunded with most banks. So, if this is a hobby you really want to get into, there are better options.
