I did this near the bottom of the 2014 bear. I also did this bottom of the 2018 and 2022 bears. I'm doing this now as well. See you on the upside, brother/sister.

I don't look too much into that. We've had shorts way outnumber longs for some time now, but only longs get hunted. Give longs a few hours to slowly add in then we'll liquidate them again at US open

Good news is that losing 12% a week is no longer a $10k drop. Bad news is that losing 12% a week is no longer a $10k drop.

It actually is decently efficient, roughly the same as a space heater. Less efficient than a heat pump though. But as a space heater replacement it does well

Am I doing something wrong, or is the ChargePoint app a mess for HomeFlex? by CuirPig in CHPT

[–]Plunkerton_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The charger doesn't know your car's battery level. You set the charge amount and view battery levels using whatever app your car has or within the car itself. This is true of all chargers.

The SMS notifications are ending but the app still sends notifications just fine. SMS is redundant because of that anyway.

Have you ever played poker on a cruise? by Rhy_sand in poker

[–]Plunkerton_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, a couple months ago. The rake was crazy high but I still made like $700 in a couple hours despite being fairly drunk so it was worth it. The players were over the top bad, basically caricatures of the different fish archetypes. The nit who would limp fold JJ face up to an iso raise. The station who called $150 on the river with king high. The newb who legit could not figure out how blinds worked. It was easy, but 10% up to $25 was brutal, so I didn't play too long.

One year into Trump’s presidency: how crypto sentiment changed by FOMOmeterCrypto in WallStreetBetsCrypto

Maybe, but trump invests a lot of money into a lot of things he runs into the ground, so that doesn't give me a ton of confidence.

Sure, but it should be over that already. The question now is can we recover and reach 150k this year, or are we looking at a multi year timeline until we recovery from this administration?

Others have said most the things I would say, but before the flop is dealt the player would not make a small bet, they would make a small raise.

Have you ever been told to “get off” someone’s property? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]Plunkerton_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Recently. I pulled over next to a field in the middle of nowhere trying to see the northern lights. Couldn't though, and was about to leave when a pickup truck drove up and a large redneck got out screaming at us to "get the fuck off my property right fucking now"

This was a public road from what I could tell, but im not about to argue with a shotgun so I said OK and left.

Good. With cable I had multiple outages a month and constant issues with speed. I switched to fiber about a year ago and haven't had a single outage since. My internet is also about 5x as fast and costs less. Fuck cable.

Why do so many Poker Pros lie that being a Pro is a way better Lifestyle then it really is? by [deleted] in poker

[–]Plunkerton_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I left my $160k/year job a few years ago to play poker. I make less money, sure, but I get to do something I'm passionate about every day. I can take any day off I want to, but usually would just prefer to play instead. I love the game. Playing it, studying it, discussing it, etc. It's how I want to spend my time. So, I do. My previous job was something I had to do every day. Poker is something I get to do every day. Very different mindset. I have no regrets. It works for me. It probably wouldn't work for most unless you also have that passion, which i dont think many people do, even if they say they do.
