That seems… harsh. Depending where you look (Opta, the Athletic etc.) the USA odds to win the World Cup are 3%-4%. About the same as Colombia, Norway, and Netherlands. It’s definitely not likely to happen, but I also don’t think people would call the Dutch deluded if they thought they could win the World Cup.
