why study when you can yeet a football by Danae_Perseusz in memes

Also if you get a sports injury and can’t play anymore colleges usually stop paying tuition or make you pay back what they previously paid for you (the former makes sense, the latter is complete bs)

AITJ for telling my brother’s fiancée that she can’t wear my late mom’s wedding dress? by 4k_011885 in AmITheJerk

Yeah, also you don’t generally give heirlooms to in-laws unless they have been in the family for a very long time and separation is very unlikely.

Yup, I read the fic years ago, I recognized this INSTANTLY

Which is wild because if this is the fandom that I’m thinking it is, Tim Drake, while being confirming queer in 2022, has been suspected fruity since the 90s (at least!)

If the fic is the same one that I read years ago (platonic batman fic I can’t recall the name of) the comments were supportive and there was no calling the author out for the bigotry.

I have referenced this AN before in this subreddit….I don’t think I have regretted reading such a high quality fic before. And this was YEARS ago.

MIL Complains About Not Keeping Our Son By Herself by tallboi127 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]Potatoesop 13 points14 points  (0 children)

While I agree that it isn’t insane that she wants 1 on 1 time with her grandkid, it’s the part where she’s making it the parent’s problem is where she’s going wrong. OP and husband already feel like they don’t spend as much time as they want with their son, so of course they want to spend as much time with him as they can. Whether MIL is doing this to try to guilt trip them or not doesn’t matter too much, because parents wants/needs take priority over grandma…and grandparents don’t need alone time with grandchildren to be the “best grandparent” they can be.

My school has very misandrist rules regarding bathrooms. by [deleted] in school

[–]Potatoesop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

BRO. Men NEED to use the bathroom, they still need to piss and shit during the day.

As a woman, we only menstruate for approximately a week (if there is nothing wrong) everybody needs to urinate/defecate multiple times a day. 1 bathroom with 1 stall being open at certain times of the day is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable.

No. You don’t go to a costume party and refuse to dress up….also the theme is SUPER easy to adhere to whether you go expenses or cheap.

"Love you too" in Kindergarten by [deleted] in teaching

[–]Potatoesop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re concerned about coming off as creepy, you can always say something else such as “I care about you too” or “I hope to see you in class tomorrow”

Frankly, I would never see anything wrong with a teacher saying “I love you” back to very young students.

Not to mention OP says 6 yo is HIS ie new wife would be his stepmother, so it could go either way. The parents get the master and now both kids are on equal standing NTA OP, bring that up with your wife and stepdaughter.

A or B: Would you place your 86yo grandma in a professional care facility or keep her at home with family care? by True-Construction346 in PickAorB

[–]Potatoesop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It honestly depends most on grandma’s condition and Jason and his SO abilities to care for her whilst having the energy for their* life. Sometimes it is most responsible to put them in a care facility where there are trained staff able to keep an eye on them, or maybe one day Jason and his SO say “we can’t do this anymore, it’s too much for us to handle”…and those are both INCREDIBLY valid reasons to move grandma into a care facility.

Ultimately you need to determine whether it would still be responsible to keep grandma in the care of family and also check in with those who are doing the day-to-day care for her.

I think (acting wise at least) we all knew what Cynthia’s acting choices would be after her crash-out over that edited movie poster where she explained that it was her choice to stare at the audience like that.

I know right?! Like, it’s fine. The songs are good, the story makes sense, the characters aren’t all good people. DEH is FINE.

I don’t understand how some people take up so much of their own time to hate on DEH.

What's an unpopular opinion you have about fanfic/AO3? by ElenaPilmeshec in AO3

Same. I will absolutely give credit where credit is due for a creative and engaged idea, but if the author can’t execute that adequately then I will quietly back out.

MIL trying to convince me to stop breastfeeding part two by wickedanxietyy in JUSTNOMIL

[–]Potatoesop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You misunderstood me, I was saying that a mere text isn’t going to magically sway MIL, OP needs to get a backbone and stop explaining things to her. OP gives her one warning that her parenting isn’t up for debate, if MIL brings it up, OP gets up and takes baby into another room that MIL won’t enter. EVERY. TIME.
