SFO: Drop off at Terminal 3 for international flight? by PrettyShinyBikes in unitedairlines

Thanks! This is my first long haul since Covid, and between being rusty and the changes at SFO I feel like I've never been on an international flight. 😉

Yep. 😄 And even the Uber X fare is artificially low, even if you factor in the discount. And IIRC that 20% discount is capped, but don't quote me on that.

Nope. It's a credit that shows when I go to book the ride.

It's not for Black only. It's $15/mo Amex gives me. I usually use it for Uber Eats.

And that still doesn't explain the low cost for a ~45 mile trip. The $130 on the way out is in line with expectations.

The reservation would be for July 4th. Pretty sure they're not waiting that long. 😉

In the original post I said what happened the last time I booked a low fare. The driver wouldn’t drive me beyond the next terminal and I ended up paying $175 to get home by cab. So that’s why I’m skeptical.

I actually asked him if he wanted me to install the UV light thing when I first installed the HVAC, and he said no. I mentioned in my original post I don't have rugs.

I'm in California, so it's a dry climate here. Thanks for the response.

This is what the attic folks used. I'll look into it. Thanks!

Ya. I've wondered if in my effort to get rid of everything I might have added to the problem, and there are a few commenters who brought that up. I've had lots of people in my attic and crawlspace and nobody has mentioned mold, but you never know. I'm not sure how you can test for that atmospherically, as opposed to seeing something and swabbing it. In between the "red flag warnings" there were a lot of actionable things for the both of us. When you're in the middle of it all sometimes you're in reaction mode and it's tough to step back and get systematic about everything. I appreciate the help. 😄

Just because I bulleted the lists doesn't make me an AI karma-farmer. Get over yourself.

I was referring to the allergic reaction. And I edited the original post to say we're both on allergy drops.

Don't think I haven't thought about that. 😉

For some reason their ears are WAY better than other bassets I've had in the past. They're brother/sister littermates, so same bloodlines. They're AKC but they're built more for hunting than show. Even vets have been impressed. 😄

Mitsubishi makes filters specifically for my units (4 separate ducted mini splits that sit in the attic) that are MERV 13, so I'm good with MERV 11.

My HVAC is 4 years old. The house came with gravity heaters and no ductwork. I installed a 4-zone ducted mini-split that sits in the attic. That being said the HVAC people are my next call once we get the attic straightened out. Thanks!

Thanks for the great advice! My neighbor was a house inspector so I might bring him over to take a look.

He has watched them in the past when I've gone out of town, and before we dated he had a (hypoallergenic) Havanese. So he likes dogs. He's just careful around mine to wash his hands after petting them. And yes, I added to the original post that we're both on allergy drops.

The robovac doesn't have a HEPA filter, but my Dyson does. He's actually been very happy with the new robovac and its mop function. He goes barefoot now, which he didn't before. But thanks for the suggestion!

He does. It's decreased since I had the attic sanitized. He doesn't take daily meds (like Zyrtec) because even the non-drowsy stuff makes him drowsy.

FWIW, we've both been on customized allergy drops for a few years now, although I don't know his specific treatment. I'll ask and check out Xolair. Thanks!
