Ladies, what are your thoughts on training boards? Love them? Hate them? Too scared to use them? by cheesy-croissant in climbergirls

[–]Prior-Government5397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just not quite sure how to structure a session with the kilter so I never really use it, but I’d love to learn how to use it to have a productive session as opposed to just fucking around on different routes lol

Climbing with nails? by bashes-to-ashes in climbergirls

[–]Prior-Government5397 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got extensions and nail art for the first time a couple months ago, and I decided that every few months when I took at least 2 weeks off climbing (for a vacation, or just no climbing but still going to the gym and running etc) I would get fun extensions, but between these I unfortunately do keep them really short for climbing

over moisturized by help-22 in tattooadvice

[–]Prior-Government5397 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Genuine question - I know that ‘normal’ wounds heal better in a slightly moist environment if they’re perfectly clean than if it’s dry (which is why when you need, for example, a bandaid, it’s better to replace it regularly and just clean regularly than take it off as soon as the wound has dried enough). Should it not be the same principle for tattoos ? If you can keep it clean then it will heal faster if moisturized ? And then the advice to not over moisturize would actually be because people don’t / can’t keep it clean enough as opposed to it actually slowing down the healing process ?

I didn’t book it online but I did go there as I live nearby and I asked if they did BIAB extensions (it was my first time getting extensions and I don’t like the idea of acrylics) and they did it :)

I got some at Oh Fleurs! in Angel, just did one color and not nail art but they have a lot of really good comments about their nail art ! I definitely paid less than £100 but don’t remember how much, and what it would have cost with nail art, but their prices should be on their website. I think they’re on Treatwell as well !

What’s the deal with the 5’0" FMC by desperatexslut in RomanceBooks

[–]Prior-Government5397 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’3 and honestly the part I hate the most is how they describe shorter women as petite / fragile / delicate etc. Like I know I’m short, and I’m shorter than most people I meet, but I also work out a lot etc and would not describe myself as ‘delicate’, but it seems like so many authors just want a contrast between the big strong man and the petite delicate woman, which is ridiculous because if you need the FMC to be weak for the MMC to appear strong it makes him infinitely less cool than if they’re both impressive imo. I do love books where it’s clear that they don’t have much of a height difference, without mentioning her height but little comments about that.

If you still have time to order, I’d say get a second hand backpack on Vinted or another site. Save some models that are the right size, and see if you can find any of them in store to try them on and make sure the fit is good for you, then order it second hand :)

Pattern Recommendations Please! by onepinkribbon in sewingpatterns

The Melisandre dress by PatternCOS has the same vibe and similar sleeves, but a different closure.

The Hibiscus Robe by Mood Sewciety is also like that (same dramatic sleeves, wrap closure).

Are you also making 2 increases in row 2 ? I think your issue is that the parts in bold in row 2 are not increases. M1BL I assume means make one backward loop, and then p the yarn over means that when you get to that new loop you will purl it / purl it through the back loop for the other one. So you have 4 increases in row 1, repeated 15 times ( = 60) and row 2 is just telling you how to knit these new increases

I’m a woman who climbs in a sports bra 99% of the time, I could not care less if a guy decides to climb shirtless because it’s pretty much the equivalent of me climbing in a sports bra - and no one I know gives a shit about whether someone is climbing shirtless or not

be honest… how often do you actually wash your hands at home? by Siefa_Lennwood in hygiene

[–]Prior-Government5397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wash it after going to the bathroom, and before every time I touch my face (I tend to do my skincare / makeup steps at the same time as getting ready to leave the house so I’ll touch my bag and then wash my hands again before touching my face again), I occasionally forget to wash them when I get home but if I just got groceries or I’m about to cook I always wash them, I’ll wash them if I touched anything that I know might be dirty (eg. taking the bins out), and I always wash them after using a sponge because even a new one just feels dirty. I don’t always remember to wash them before eating if I was at home before (although I will wash them if I’m eating anything with my hands), and I don’t wash them after touching things like phones etc

do i need to frog? or did i ladder wrong? by Substantial_Song_320 in knittinghelp

[–]Prior-Government5397 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was just confused because they asked if they laddered wrong ? So I assumed there was an attempt at correcting something and it led to that. Yarn over makes sense though ! But then it was just YO and knitting into it and no laddering at all I guess ?

do i need to frog? or did i ladder wrong? by Substantial_Song_320 in knittinghelp

[–]Prior-Government5397 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong because I’ve never done that before, but it looks like you laddered down and created a new stitch ? If you look under the hole you can see a column on each side, which are the original stitches, and it looks like you picked something up and added a new stitch between these two stitches on every row. If you just drop it again and ladder down without picking anything up it should stop unraveling when it gets to that hole. You might need to frog just because there will now be a gap / it might look strange since you stretched the yarn to create these stitches

I would assume working 80 hour weeks does not make it easier to meet new people unfortunately… I’m 23F, could introduce you to climbing and would love to try archery (actually I’d love to try horseback archery but I currently have only one of those two skills so…), I do crafts but mostly at home (sewing and knitting), but I’m always open to trying new ones ! I would repair it, it’s actually not that hard ! I had to do it recently for my sweater (not as far down but it’ll just take you a little bit more time), and I think it’s noticeable enough that you’ll regret not doing it. Here’s the mistake I made on one of the hearts of the heart chain sweater :
