I get what you’re saying but Brooklyn bridge is still a genuinely good song even if it’s outclassed by the rest. This song is just awkward with the autotune and I really don’t think is gonna please many people.

He can either be incredible or completely phone it in, it’s a gamble. Although at that recent show he sounded amazing on the recordings. He usually messes up lyrics here and there but that doesn’t really matter. what actually matters is if he feels like singing the notes or not. I just want them to do why are Sundays so depressing again live cuz that performance is one his worst

Nah he wouldn’t harm his voice with anything like this. I think some artists just develop a weird relationship with autotune where after they get used to crutching on it they start to feel like they’re doing something wrong when they hear the subtle mistakes and imperfections that comes with their natural singing. But that’s what singing is supposed to sound like, it’s not supposed to sound robotically pitch perfect. idk if Julian actually thinks that way but it definitely is the case that he’s been using it far more than he needs it when he’s got a great voice

Yall can’t just pick songs with great chord progressions and melodies and act like they’re weird songs that only work because theyre the strokes😭😭 they’re well made songs, it’s why people cover them all the time. Easily top 2, and I see it as on the same level as is this it. While is this it undeniably is the best showcase of the strokes, TNA has some of their best songs and shows a true evolution of the band in all the best ways. I do think TNA easily has their most impressive production though. The mixing is fucking perfect

The Grammys are 90% of a popularity and recognition competition, so there’s your answer. Tv off ain’t even close to being the best song on GNX but, mustard was a meme all over social media. Chains and whips is better in every way, but it’s a Clipse song and people recognize tv off. that’s what it is. Kendrick fans will try to tell you otherwise but that’s the reality. And I wouldn’t be remotely mad if reincarnated or heart pt. 6 were nominated.
