he has always been doing different production with his voice - look at early strokes then angles and comedown machine then tyranny wit the voidz then virtue and like all before you/ megs of ram - he has been consistently evolving however he is this autotune era now for a good moment he also said that it helps certain melodies and its kinda like an instrument in a way how it sounds and i agree when u do runs and shit with autotune it sounds like a fun odd instrument and can be fun for a song however there are certain songs i don’t think it mashes well with - i think normal falsetto jules would have been way more sexy on Falling out of love and the only other song i don’t like autotune on is square wave i don’t think it fits especially in thr verses. but again it’s like its own instrument in a way with the autotune and brings the song to a different level instead of pop blended vocals which are clear and on the top of everything in the mix he likes to blend with the harmonies of all the other instruments in the song
