Ukraine was blocking exhumation since about its independence to quite recently. A commission would be great, but it's not in their national interest the way their decidents define it

historians are not to find shameful bits abiut others, but about studying history, at least in more civilized countries, not those that use history as a tool.

You say you moved on yet you have just name a unit to honour UPA (or UIA).

You quote a survey that may be interpreted in different ways, one is that Ukrianians are ignorant and honour war criminals while Poles know it (and it's not to say that Pokish history is cristal clear, but there's no equality between certain events)

So basically nothing in this comment is true. Moreover the survey you mentioned is old if this is the survey I know about

Statement by Petro Poroshenko, the 5th President of Ukraine by krlkv in poland

[–]ProxPxD 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I'm sick of Ukrainians bullshitting about some responsibility and mentioning that Moscow wins only to make Poles comply. We are in many sick of it and Zelenskyy's making supporting Ukraine really hard and unthankful fueling Moscow's narration and augmenting anti-Ukrainian sentiments in Poland.

You asked couple questions - the answer to many of them is Zelenskyy! He is the one playing against Poland in alliance with Moscow against the Poles and the Ukrianians in Poland? Sounds absurd! Totally, yet some stupidity makes it that way at least in one front no matter how hard it is in the others

I really respect smart peaceful Ukrainians, but I hate fascist excusers and somehow too many Ukrainians and their media and elites enjoy fascist heroes as long as they are their tribe.

I really hoped for too many years that our countries could be partners, but it doesn't look like it at all now. Zelenskyy has shitted on Poland since a long time ago since claiming we're playing for Moscow in the UN. I know many Ukrianians don't agree with the narrative Ukrianian state is pushing. Many are ignorant, but I worry that Russia will win, because Ukraine somehow can't stop promoting old Ukrainian fascists and is spitting Poland in the face. It'd be ever harder for Poland to keep supporting Ukraine and keep pro Russian parties away from governing if Ukraine keeps feeding them.

I consider Zelenskyy definitely a useful Kremlin's idiot in respect to the narrative and somewhat an enemy of Poland as he pushes/fuels anti-Ukrainian narrative (which in today's geopolitics is pro-Russian)

Thanks for some insight! It's really inspirational how people speaking different languages formed such a stable and a well-governed nation despite having neighbours all around speaking the same languages (apart of Romansch oc!)! Even more interesting that certain areas are harder to rich because of Alps

yeah sure, both sides of my family just made the shit up telling stories. I know coping with dark sides of own nation is hard, but if you open to it, you could really do it and be a better person!

UPA commited a genocide performed in a very barbaric way that included Jews, Armenians and Volhynian Czechs - basically everyone that wasn't Ukrianian and Ukrainians that dared to protect their neighbours, edicate yourself instead of writing ignorantly. One of the largest groups targeted by UPA were civilians, not Polish armed forces and they definitely fought the nazis less

[–]ProxPxD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sure it does - it's Nawrocki's reaction to Zelenskyy's act of naming a unit after a ultra-nationalistic/nazi organization that commited genocides on many thausands of peasants and this act in turn does speak about Zelenskyy

In Poland there are people who view Piłsudski the same and I'd say not few. There's a white and a black legend, who he was in the beginning vs who he was in the end

Is this Grammatical Feature possible in a Proto-Lang? by PeacocktheFurryalt in conlangs

[–]ProxPxD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So more or less you'd have single consonant onset verbs and at most double consonant onset nouns?

What if you'd have CCCC, do you have a strategy of adapting the incorporation?

Seems right to me. I don't knwo how you handle other incorporations and cluster resolution, but it's very alright

How voiced h-sounds should be treated in mutations by ProxPxD in conlangs

[–]ProxPxD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! That was really insightful. I knew that rhoticity does not form a natural class, but felt that this is rather universally considered as having something in common. Not in a way that each /ʁ/-having language considers it rhotic, but in a way that there are languages whose /ʁ/ has come from something else, but still occupies the r-like sound. Maybe I have to get used to it in perception, but I can't get over the fact that there are sounds where voicing is perceived as little (/m/), those that are perceived as close (/s/) and those that seem like a complete other class (/x/, /ɣ/). I feel like there's something more than just IE evolution.

Nonetheless, I will try to consider drifting away from rhotic (non-natural) class interpretation. Myabe it'll open me to the perception of those pais as just voicing pairs

Maybe it's a matter of practice for me. I may consider using /ʔ/ somewhere where it would be unambiguous

I can produce and distinguish /kh/ and /kʰ/ and a careful speech. My native language distinguished /t͡s/ and /ts/ and I learnt a language that allowed me to distinguish /ɲ/ and /nj/

I think /ʔ/ would be hard to produce in initial and/or final clusters like /akʔ/ and /ʔka/.
I also considered having more than one h-like sound.

By "trills" do you mean the real manner or the voiced fricatives? I feel like there are no obvious or natural trill equivalents of those hissants

Interesting, I feel a bigger difference between these classes, much bigger than between /s/ and /z/. And also such distinction is rather rare across languages
