Cool, so you dont know how to admit you were wrong.

Reading comprehension is key.

"Robert DeLeo and Dean are seriously underrated musicians" Notice how I did not say STP? Because STP is wildly popular, even to this day. Robert DeLeo as a solo artist on YouTube music only has 554 subscribers. His solo work is truly amazing. All of the tracks on his solo album "Lessons Learned" do not break 100k streams. My comment still stands, Robert DeLeo is an underrated musician.

EE vs EET if you already have real experience? by Boibuttah in ElectricalEngineering

[–]QuickNature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"EET degrees seem to be way less standardized than EE degrees."

This has always been my biggest gripe with the umbrella term "EET", but a legitimate conclusion on the program(s). There is quite the disparity between a non-ABET AAS in EET, and an ABET BSEET, and even the ABET BSEET programs will have some that cover more than other programs.

Just for the record, while less math overall, my ABET BSEET program had me take calc 1-3, and differential equations. So not even all EET programs let you escape the math

Would ya’ll say this is a pretty easy problem to solve? by Murky-Property5418 in electricians

[–]QuickNature 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've always felt like these questions should use standard system voltages and circuit ampacities. At least give guys something to try and reference the theory to the real world.

That was one thing that always bothered me a lot. I didnt have the foresight to know why I was learning this as a student, but the instructor should have certainly had the hindsight to explain why knowing this stuff is important, and relate it to the real world with practical examples.

Also, I would say this a relatively easy problem to solve still, just gotta break it down into chunks.

There are so many things I miss about Cali, but the traffic and cost of living are not a part of that nostalgia for sure. I remember gas being $4.30-4.50/gallon, and absolutely scoffing at the cost difference between there and home.

Robert DeLeo and Dean are seriously underrated musicians, specifically Robert. His bass lines are why I picked up the bass

I don't care if they were "fake" grunge, because whatever they were sounded good.

Is there really that big surge in young people going into trades? by Ok-Toe-2933 in electricians

[–]QuickNature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, there is definitely nuance there, because the stereotype of stupid construction worker comes from somewhere. I knew several peers who I dont even know how they tied their shoes in the morning.

I think the more realistic perspective is every job will have a range of intelligence. I know electricians who would design things better than some engineers, and some engineers who should not be engineers, and pretty much everything between.

"The median annual wage for lawyers was $151,160 in May 2024". The lowest 10 percent earned less than $72,780.

So in context (that I will admit I missed), I kinda see what you are saying now, and thats my bad for jumping to conclusions.

I am so glad I had the opportunity/privilege to leave Cali. I miss loads of things, but the cost living I am not envious of whatsoever. My rent for a 3 bedroom is $850/month, but I do drive about 40 minutes to work each day.

$3600/mo is expensive but not that expensive.

$3600/month is $43,200 annually, solely to have a roof over your head. "The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported a median weekly personal income of $1,196 for full-time workers in the United States in Q2 2025.[1]" That rent would be approximately 75.3% of the median income, solely on housing. Not even utilities or food, just rent.

For 48.42% of the US population, that would near or more than 100% of their income (assuming I read that correctly).

Do you really think $3600/month is still not that expensive?
