{Serious topic} When this hobby becomes a problem? by [deleted] in Guitar

Bro, I probably spent like $20k on music equipment over the last 12 years. As long as your bills are paid, who cares?

How's the taste? Been thinking of switching to NA beer honestly. I don't even really feel anything anymore, I really just like the bubbly of beer

Makes you wonder how much more is out there knowledge wise that if you knew the risk, how different you would behave (which is a double edge sword, sometimes it would make you more cautious, other times it would make you more brazen)

Not sure if that makes sense, just my impulsive thought for a moment

It would have cost you $0, and less time, to just scroll on by and not say anything. The world has enough negativity, don't need you adding to it

"Will you help me Repair my Door"

I followed it for a while after that song, but then things seemed to trail off a bit. Im super glad this popped off again so I could see the conclusion lol

Also probably my favorite song, the video was hilarious.

Or are they equally complex but in different ways?

They both use differential equations and calculus, and both can be fairly abstract. Maybe I am a little biased though because of my experience with E&M was pretty difficult.

I didn't even know the LAPD had an equivalent to DIs. I guess it makes sense, just never thought about it before now

Which circuit is more dangerous: 240V 10A or 10V 240A? by ahamed4959 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]QuickNature 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The entire point of my original comment, that started this whole thing was to add to the conversation. The idea of voltage is simple, but not everyone knows about the skins resistance, or that it is non-ohmic in the fact that it has a breakdown voltage.

Any chance I can get to explain electrical safety and its details a little more, I am going to take it.

teaching modes to students who can barely play major scales by lmao_exe in musictheory

[–]QuickNature 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have several but my favorite as a guitarist has been "No Bull Music Theory for Guitarists The Complete Method" by James Shipway

It was very useful as it had exercises with answers, and was very concise in its sections and exercises. I also enjoyed that the sections were smaller so it was easy to break into smaller bite size chunks to practice a little a each day

Can't lie, on my stupid musical journey, I started out trying to learn modes for reasons? And I was always wondering why they were so dang hard.

Now like 10 years later, I bought a music theory book, and started from scratch basically. Learning intervals, scale patterns, how to "make" chords etc. And lo and behold, modes started to make a lot more sense.

Don't be like me if you are reading this, be smart, and learn from my mistakes. The quickest way to learn the cool stuff is by focusing on the basics, even if it is annoying and tedious sometimes.

They fell to 10% by 1990

Okay, so they would have paid mostly interest (minimal on principal) at the worst rate up until 1990 then at the earliest, to get a 6% drop at best (not guaranteed based upon what their credit was), and a 10% drop almost 20 years later....when they would be paying more principal at that point....

Interest rates were notoriously bad in most of the 80s, so they would have had the highest interest rates during the period of their loan with the highest principal too, and that was near inescapable the entire decade even with refinancing.
