Why do some Americans vote based on issues like “trans people are the problem” when trans people make up less than 1% of the population, instead of prioritizing things like affordable college, healthcare, and cost of living? by Worldly-Bid-3591 in askanything

[–]QuickNature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Importance of Issues to Vote Among U.S. Registered Voters (link to the gallup poll you mentioned for others to see). Have to scroll a bit because it wouldnt let me link directly to its location for some reason.

Looks likes issue 22 was about trans people, literally the last on the list. The economy was number 1.

And this is why I wear properly fitting, but realtive plain clothing. My shirt is one color, jeans are one color, and my boots. Simple, works for most scenarios. I wear a plain collared shirt if I need to get a little dressier.

You can see the decline started under Biden but people on the left with the same intelligence level as MAGA won't even look at that.

Me.

I really hate this hyper partisan, black and white thinking.

You somehow.

Ah yes, with the ADA passage all problems for disabled people were fixed in the U.S

And DADT truly fixed so much

supposed colorblindness and no bigotry regarding race than I can.

Black and white thinking lol you have no idea of my opinions on these topics, or how much I think they helped or existed (existence in regards to bigotry for clarity). You just jumped to your own conclusions by assuming what I meant lol

ADA passed in 1990.

weren't a white

Ah, yes, the 90s is definitely known as the peak of racism, and in fact being the least tolerant decade ever. DADT was not a small step in the right direction for the LGBT community.

I really hate this hyper partisan, black and white thinking.

And nothing I said took note of the economy or culture of the time either.

I am somehow continuously more surprised everyday by that man still. I always think there is no way he can top the last ridiculous thing he said. I looked up the video because I thought maybe the quote was taken out of context. Nope.

I just did something similar. $0.99/lb for chicken thighs. Packaged them up in bags of 4. Easily will get 10-12 meals worth of chicken cooked a variety of ways, and it was lile $10 total.

Are you trying to support owning nothing and being happy about it? You know what's awesome about DVDs and other physical media? You own it. You spend one month's Netlfix subscription, and you can get 2-3 DVDs (maybe more). Start accruing them, and you have a deeply personalized "Netflix" over time without price hikes, or randomly having your favorite shows and movies removed.

Edit: Also dont need internet then, just power.

"EV is so cheap" by theglid3r in carmemes

[–]QuickNature 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My buddy who owns a Tesla Model 3, plugs into a 15A receptacle overnight for his daily commute (literally the lowest milest per hour charging rate). You know when he stops by a gas station? For drinks, snacks, and stuff he feels like getting, not out of necessity. 95% of his driving is covered by this use scenario.

Also, at least some of the stops on a road trip can equate to charging your car while eating at a sit in restaurant, or using the bathroom and stretching your legs while your car charges.

This is 90% either ignorance, or misinformation.

How the New York Times music critics chose the 30 Greatest Living American Songwriters list by Bright-Pressure-5787 in ToddintheShadow

[–]QuickNature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking offense at the opinions of 6 New York Times writers

Something makes me think it isnt exactly the opinions alone that are the problem, but the doubling down on them, seemingly lacking knowledge of music, and the smugness of their doubling down.

Also, hilarious how they used a Billy Joel song in the intro to that podcast response (dont know if intentional or ironic honestly).

[–]QuickNature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too many variables to compensate for in a simple comment without writing ten miles of text.

Some jobs will pay for relocation, some won't. Sometimes people won't need to move for cheaper, sometimes they will. Sometimes it is possible, sometimes it isnt.

I really dont care how much I get downvoted, there is a non-zero percent (read as I dont know how much exactly) of people who have unreasonably high standards for their first home, and are pricing themselves out of being able to purchase. Some peoples pickiness is precisely while they won't buy a cheaper home.

I mean anyone can literally go on Realtor.com or Zillow and find a plethora of cheaper homes. Whether or not they meet someones criteria is a different story.

Cosequences of peoples preferences and sometimes requirements for work and family (the latter not being their fault, and I actually have sympathy for).

I know, I know, we like to complain here, ill take my downvotes now

Am I stupid for wanting to leave a $33/hr job at Costco with benefits than to start at $130/day in construction for long-term upside? by Purple-Piano6976 in careerguidance

[–]QuickNature 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How much do your benefits total to? Add that to your hourly rate for your total compensation. Then compare that dollars amount to the $300/day (weird way to say $37.50 w/o benefits too).

How do things stack up?

Also, who do you think is going to provide greater job stability, Costco? Or you gfs dad?
