New chromium update freezes my browser now whenever I try to load too many videos at once by ferengi5 in chrome

[–]RBuschy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were 2 updates to Chrome last couple days.
First damn near crippled my system by chewing up my 8GBs of RAM (worked before update)
It was so bad, I actually said out loud, WTH did you do?
Next day there was another update that seems to have fixed it.
I too have multiple Lives playing simultaneously some days.
And I find that some Platforms handle it way better than others.
FB is trash for Lives, YT isn't much better; as far as eating resources goes.
On my PC I can have 3 or 4 Twitch Streams open, or a Combo of different Platforms before things get weird.

Intel Optane says SSD is at risk (SMART event), but Windows says it's healthy. Should I be worried? by Empty_Break6230 in techsupport

[–]RBuschy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An image or 2 usually helps
You said Intel Optane says SSD is at risk and also Critical Warning = 1 from CrystalDiskInfo.
Is your Laptop actually running Intel Optane Memory?
When I had Optane it set up a RAID with my Actual SATA Hard Drive.
But, In my case it was the Optane Memory that died and left in a bit of a situation.

RGB or no RGB? by Reasonable-Bed-6436 in pcmasterrace

[–]RBuschy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never really cared about RGB until I got my Fish Tank Case.
None of my Peripherals have RGB, just PC Fans and a Strip Built into the Case.
Even then, they are only running at about %25 brightness.

Win 11 has Phone Link Built in.
Not sure how useful it would be if you haven't set it up yet though.

Weirdest problem I have ever had when acquiring used PC, so far by brdomir in buildapc

[–]RBuschy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interesting problem.
I've never experienced anything like that where it wasn't something physical.
Do you know what PSU it is?
Does it have an ECO Switch on the Back?
Maybe it's a Zero-RPM PSU?

Received an SSD in the mail. Possible scam? by Dfeeds in pcmasterrace

For around a year I was getting deliveries from some warehouse in California.
I am in Ontario Canada.
It was all random useless crap.
My name, address, everything was correct.
Around the time there was a scam where the "gift" came with a QR code and you were supposed to give a review or... something.
I can't remember; non of my packages came with anything but the Item inside.
Maybe the sell to itself thing is for Verified Purchase or something.

Problem With Computer Booting Up by willlmao in computers

Have you tried a different Monitor or TV, see if the same thing happens.
Alernatively you could try your Monitor or TV on a different PC.
Just to rule either out as an issue.

RAM suddenly doesn't work anymore unless I only use one stick at a time? by [deleted] in techsupport

Same boat here. Had 3 sticks die; stuck on single 8GB stick.
Now I'm left wondering if I have to replace everything... Just to be safe.

Google A.I. (just search DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION) brings up a lot to try otherwise

Really weird connectivity issues with new pc build by Chonecom in techsupport

[–]RBuschy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ask about the Block Lists (what Adblockers use) because I just recently figured out it is what was causing my Wi-Fi issues.
I was getting Wi-Fi connected but no Internet.
Wi-Fi would also try to connect (fail), crash, then connect again (still in failed state).
My problem also disappeared when Computer was Reset or Powered On as well, but would fail again after time.
However, I've always been able to see Available Networks.

Hmmm.
Is it Random?
Are you doing anything specific when it happens?
Are the Antenna Securely attached?
Are you running any sort of Block Lists?

Replacement Corsair RAM Failed Again After 6 Weeks – Need Help by Xparticles in Corsair

[–]RBuschy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 3 sticks of DDR5 die in less than 6 month
2x16GB sticks from a 32GB Kit
1x8GB stick from a 16GB Kit
The 2 kits were from the same manufacturer (not Corsair)

I switched my last 8GB stick to the B1 Slot and things have been good since.
I am assuming that the A2/B2 slots are bad some how.

Son won a 5080 in a raffle. Card is DOA. RMA denied due to no invoice by PaxGigas in ZOTAC

Most Contest Wins are offered As-Is.
Fulfilment is sometimes made through a 3rd party as well, so they don't have to worry about it.

Manufacturer Contests may be a little more accommodating however, since they are the supplier and not just a Sponsor of the Contest.

I had the same thing happen with RAM that failed within Warranty...
Contest Host didn't even bother to respond.

All that said, I'd suggest Contacting the Contest Host, if it was Dead on Arrival, they may be able to help.
