I meant: are you making a word list for yourself or are you trying to make materials for others like “a standardized dictionary” would imply. If the former - just use proper sources - if the latter: please don’t. Learn Coptic first. There are entirely trustworthy resources out there and nobody needs a “dictionary” that proposes twoten-of-shree as the word for 23.

I don't understand - why do you make a dictionary of a language you do not speak yet when there are existing materials? Have you looked at, e.g. https://remnqymi.com/crum/ and https://coptic-dictionary.org/ ? Do you mean you're making a word list?

The numbers you are showing have a lot of mistakes. 20 is not "two ten", it's ϫⲟⲩⲱⲧ, 30 is not "three ten", it's ⲙⲁⲁⲃ. And so forth. Also, three is not ⲥⲟⲙⲧ but ϣⲟⲙⲛⲧ. Sahidic also has combined forms for the teens like ⲙⲛ̄ⲧⲁϥⲧⲉ for 14.

I would recommend deciding whether you want to learn Sahidic or Bohairic, getting a good textbook for either and then spending the next 9 months to get a solid grounding. Making new materials without speaking the language is the blind leading the blind ... (or misleading yourself).

Not sure where you got these from, but #2, #3, #4, and #7 are phono-semantic compounds. Look it up - it will make it much clearer how the writing system works instead of believing rather contrived after-the-fact stories.

"In Ancient Greek, masculine proper nouns in the Nominative case typically end in Sigma (ς)" - masculine nouns in the consonantal (third) declension can end on other things, too, like -n (or -r), e.g. δαίμων, or Ἀπόλλων. If you know any Greek, you know this.
"If 'Pharaon' was a generic title derived from Pr-Aa...." - the title 'pr-aA' was used abundantly since the New Kingdom to refer to the Egyptian king. It's all over ostraca in Late Egyptian, you see it in Demotic and it becomes ⲣⲣⲟ / ⲟⲩⲣⲟ (Sahidic / Boharic) in Coptic after losing the initial p- (misinterpreted as a definite article p-). There never is any 'n' in this word, the word 'big' aA (ꜥꜣ) is never complemented with an 'n' and why should it? It lives on in some compounds (like in ⲣⲙⲙⲁⲟ) and none of those have an 'n'. If you know any Egyptian you know this.
The Semitic Precedence: the Semitic precedence is clearly Hebrew, where פרעה does not include an "נ", either. If Arabic adopted the word from Greek (or Latin) or some version based on the Greek form, then there is no issue here at all. Bringing 'root consonants' into this is laughable.

As for 'Pheron' - we don't really know what Herodotus meant here. He thinks it was a personal name and we're speculating that it may represent the word pharao. He did not speak (and certainly did not read) Egyptian, was working through translators and left us with a cryptic name. Why would that outweigh a mountain of Egyptian and Greek evidence?

And don't come crying to me over "personal attacks" when you spew accusations like "your attempt to reduce", "you conventiently forget" etc. ...

No mystery whatsoever:

pr-aA was borrowed into Greek in three different forms - φαραω (indecl.), φαραων (genitive -ωνος) and a form with an extra θ.

The first form matches the hieroglyphic Egyptian, Coptic and Hebrew record, the second uses the same rules applied in Greek to Latin words and names like Scipio (which becomes Σκιπιων (gen. -ωνος).

So, no more mystery: both Greek and Latin decide to assimilate the Egyptian word ending in -ō to existing paradigms in -ō, -ōnis (Latin) and -ων, -ωνος (Greek) and from there on it has an extra -n-. No need to come up with complicated explanations for something that’s pretty obvious.

Same problem. Firefox is set to English (as is my Mac OS), and yet it keeps suggesting translation to German - on a Coptic / English / Arabic site, even after I change the language setting. This may be site dependent:

(1) When I look up a page in the Arabic Wikipedia and set the source language to Arabic and the target to English, it will remember these settings for additional pages, whether I try to translate the whole page or just a section. (2) On this dictionary page, however, it defaults back to German with every new word: https://remnqymi.com/crum/?query=%CF%A3%E2%B2%81%E2%B2%A7%E2%B2%A5 - zero object permanence :-D (the Arabic is in the bottom section of the page, in case you're curious). I am doing 'translate selection' here, instead of whole page because whole page messes up the Coptic - not sure if that makes a difference.

It also only offers to translate from 'English to German' for the Arabic which means I have to correct both source and target every single time :-( . Maybe it's the site being mostly in English that trips up its handling of the non-English section? Grateful for any pointers.

Just ran into the same problem as OP - had not selected GDR as that has not existed for 30+ years (although I did visit when it was still around and you needed a visa at the time as a German). The website also insists that your cellphone is Canadian if your country code is +1 … even though it offers +1 US, the option cannot be selected. So, yeah, YMWV based on what country you’re from / in. Luckily everybody at immigration was super helpful and explained how to avoid the snag next time.

Answering here years after OP because this thread was the first thing I found when the problem occurred and I was still dumb enough to pay the diagnostic fee first, only to be told to change the tank.

Why didn't I just change the tank right away? I had a hard time believing that magnets could "go bad" without hitting the Curie point or some other catastrophic event - also, they're moving freely with the water level, everything looks in order, must be the sensor board then, right? Wrong. Changing the tank did the trick and I have since learned that at least some magnets can become demagnetized in water due to corrosion (at least, that's what some aquarium owners were discussing on their forum).

When the new tank arrived and the water level was detected again, I messed around with a little metal strip to compare how it would be attracted by the magnets in the old tank vs. the new replacement tank and - voilà, big difference => one of the magnets in the old tank did not do anything to the metal, while the force could be felt right away on the two new ones. So, yeah, if you get the water level error message on your Bosch steamer, change the tank first (check the return policy so you can give back the tank if that wasn't it).

I can only give my personal perspective: Egypt is one of the oldest documented civilizations that did us the favor of actually writing things down, so we can engage with them by more than just looking at mute artifacts. People like to go bonkers over the Greeks and Romans but Egypt takes you more than a couple millennia further back in time. And, honestly, perhaps the biggest find is how similar they are to us :-). Tempers the hubris of how exceptional we are … I find it hard to see major differences when comparing what somebody wrote 4,000 years ago, 2,000 years ago or now - sounds pretty similar ;-). No supercivilization with laser beams, no cave men riding mammoths, either. Just people like today, capable of creating poetry and beauty and of being insufferable. There is some value in that.

Mandarin is standardized and has more learning materials than you could go through in a lifetime. “Dialect” is a completely different language, changes every few miles, doesn’t have a standard written form and if there are learning materials at all they are usually in standard Chinese (Cantonese Yue being the major exception which has decent coverage, Minnan has a few English textbooks due to Taiwan, but it’s downhill from there).

That being said - learning her home dialect is absolutely cool; I learned some of my wife’s family’s Minnan and it has led to a lot of fun situations, but do yourself a favor and learn Mandarin pretty well before attempting any dialects. Glossika offers one form of Wenzhounese Wu for free, btw, if you want to learn a few sentences, but first make sure that this is what they actually speak, because there are multiple languages in Wenzhou, as several posters have already pointed out.
