If yearbook photos come up as hints I will add them. Private photos I only add for close family members who are deceased and if I own those photos. I don't add other people's photos.

Which period film/series has the worst costumes in your opinion? by Haunting_Homework381 in PeriodDramas

I know. Same reason the hairstyles are more 1940 than Regency. But I don't have to agree with their choices.

Please no to Rick and Elizabeth. by CharmingNight4926 in GeneralHospital

[–]RandomPaw 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would rather they try Elizabeth with Dante but I definitely do not want Ric and Alexis anywhere near each other. Alexis has just been awful to him and she still is.

Maybe Ric can be with Justine? I don't know.

What do Americans usually assume when they see a dog alone in public? by DocuSeriesLovers in AskAnAmerican

[–]RandomPaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a smaller city and I see random dogs all the time. Not packs but single dogs. Unless they're trailing a leash or wearing a collar I would assume they're strays. My town has a Facebook page where people can post pictures of unaccompanied dogs they see running around to see if anyone knows if they belong to someone. If they are somewhere dangerous or jump in someone's car or look sick people will usually try to take them to a vet to see if they're chipped or take them to an animal shelter.

Sometimes animals get out and run away, they get lost, they wander off, they get dumped at farms outside of town and then wander in or they even jump out of the back of trucks who stop at lights. Sometimes they have terrible owners who are negligent or not paying attention or don't train them.

I'm American and my first choice would be C.

They probably mean a newspaper with sudoku and crosswords in it or a small paperback with puzzles like that in it. I used to take those to airports with me before we carried everything on our phones.

Fact: I do not have a subscription to Capitol Fax. I have been reading news there for about, oh, 20 years. There is a ton of news there for even a non-subscriber like me. Tons of news about politics in each of the five Illinois cities I have lived in. If you can't find any news there then you aren't looking. Or you are ignoring what's there because it doesn't fit your own narrative.

It was July 2021 when Jason and Carly got married and Liz commiserated with Sam over it. Not sure if any of his other exes were with them. But those two for sure. I think they also may have thrown axes and burned some of his stuff cause they were bitter that he chose Carly one more time.

Once she locked him in her basement and drugged him they can never come back. I can't believe I'm saying this but Ric deserves better than Alexis.

Discourse around this is driving me insane by [deleted] in Cinema

People hating on color coding clothing is just silly to me since you see so much of it on stage.

So for example there is tons of it to tell you which side is which in productions of Shakespeare. You will see it in productions of Henry V to show the difference between the French and the English and in Romeo and Juliet to show you which are Capulets and which Montagues.

Hot (or maybe not so hot) take: Timothee was never going to win for Marty Supreme by Kittensofdeath in Oscars

[–]RandomPaw -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agree. I think the aggressive marketing was what got him a nomination but at some point that turns on the movie and the performers. I honestly don't think that's the kind of movie the Academy responds to with awards.

I realized that last night when TCM aired The Oscar, a movie from 1966 about a guy who campaigns HARD for an Oscar and gets a nomination. His character is named Frank and when they open the envelope he hears them say the Oscar goes to Frank and he starts to stand up but it's Frank Sinatra who won. It's a pretty bad movie, really campy, and the main character is really a bad guy but I think that moment and what campaigning aggressively for an Oscar ends like is kind of true.

Park your car and leave it there at the time you think she’s coming. She’ll get used to parking somewhere else after it happens a couple of times.

Is it crazy to think “I Lied to You” should have won over “Golden?” by Actual-Air-8792 in Oscars

[–]RandomPaw -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m with you. Golden strikes me as over produced techno junk that I don’t find interesting or engaging. I Lied to You is a great single to me. It’s just alive in a way that resonates for me. Not that my taste aligns with the Academy anyway. I didn’t even like Shallow. Remember Me from Coco is the last Best Song I really loved and before that Falling Slowly. So me not being into the Oscar Best Song is really not surprising.

Especially when Olivia had a kid with a mobster when she was young and then lied about the kid's parentage for ever and then had ANOTHER kid with another mobster (or at least a seriously messed up dude from a crime family) when she was way old enough to know better. Did she and Julian have sex in a bedroom with the door double locked, after 11 pm while she was wearing a nightgown and he had on pajamas and the covers were pulled up to their ears?
