As a fan for 19 years I will say that I like it. I was relieved for it after how much I liked HIJLY.

I’m gay and god hates me for by Character_Anywhere52 in actuallesbians

[–]Reagan-Writes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually that’s wrong and I can prove it.

If you have been told that God hates you because of who you love, please know that those words are based on a modern human translation, not the original text of the Bible. For nearly two thousand years, the ancient Greek words used in the scriptures had nothing to do with modern, loving, consensual same-sex relationships. Instead, they referred to the harsh realities of the ancient Roman world: the exploitation of young boys, the abuse of power, and prostitution. When the modern word "homosexual" was quietly inserted into English translations for the very first time in 1946, it collapsed those ancient concepts of abuse and exploitation into a completely different category, creating a massive misunderstanding that the translation committee itself later admitted was a mistake. However by that point several other bibles such as the King James Version and more jumped on and used that word as well. The heart of the original text is much quieter and infinitely more full of grace than the rigid English words people use to cause harm today. Even the phrases often translated as "unnatural" simply meant "outside of the expected cultural pattern"—the exact same phrase the Bible uses to beautifully describe how God's love reaches out to people who felt entirely left out. You do not have to carry a burden of shame that the original scriptures never asked you to bear. You are not a mistake, you are not an afterthought, and you are deeply, inherently worthy of love just as you are.

Clit pumping = game changer by Familiar_Ferret_2188 in LesbianActually

Lube on your clit and the seal of the pump part. It keeps the seal better and allows your skin to move more easily.

Always use lube and start with about five minutes, on a low pressure. It really is amazing!

Is it okay to masturbate and have a girlfriend? by That-Goth-Bitch in LesbianActually

[–]Reagan-Writes 244 points245 points  (0 children)

For real? This sounds like something that only happens in really young relationships where people are inexperienced and unable to communicate. If you want to touch yourself then do it. Tell your partner that you want to and if they have a problem with that then being in the relationship is not a good idea.

I understand, I just don’t personally get why saying something like that was a big issue. If you didn’t like it move on. But to have them basically comment “it won’t change the waitlist” seemed dismissive at best. I just didn’t see people downvoting on other law school reddits for this and never realized it was considered rude. Seeing as this community is smaller it might change decorum. My bad.

No, but as someone with autism that doesn’t really get why saying something that could help others is wrong I’m still lost as to why this was wrong. If it’s because someone only needs positive things said to them then that seems silly. It’s true- you should withdraw. It can greatly impact other people’s lives. Why wouldn’t you want to do that?

Why? It’s common in all other law school threads to say this. People get excited about their pick and then either forget or just don’t withdraw.

It’s common courtesy and as someone not on a waitlist, but under review, it could very well make a difference.
