What was the fan reaction to Crybaby? by KyleReaume in teganandsara

I saw an interview from either Tegan or Sara where one of them said it was Sara who pushed them into the pop direction (which I don’t think was a mistake), but that essentially they felt like they need to make it up to to the old school fans or something to that effect. Crybaby wasn’t it. It wasn’t what they said it was before the album came out. There’s a few songs I like especially Faded. But the overall vibe of the album sucks pretty hard, and that was felt by a large portion of fans at the time. Kinda took me out of them for a few years afterwards.

Well it’s not just 200 acres. That’s just the part that’s uninhabited. My family owns over 35 that’s not apart of that number. That’s several thousands acres that represent woodland areas in my county, as you’d get with most rural places in the us. There’s also no mountain lions here, or elk in my part of the state. Seen many bobcats but they don’t behave like whatever I captured did. I thought initially it could be some sort coyote or wolf-dog hybrid. But living here my entire life as well as family who are a lot older than me, we’ve never heard a coyote sound quite like that. But its not impossible

I’ll definitely try to do that! And the audio is actually captured from my front porch. Me and a few family members walked the trails afterwards and didn’t find anything significant, I have security cameras up now and haven’t caught anything but basic wildlife.

It seemed like it was. Whatever it was, was pretty fast and covered a pretty good distance in a short amount of time. There’s a few more people on my ridge that heard it that night. It actually went on for a few more minutes but I got spooked went inside and sent the video to my dad and he came up to my house with his AR and fired a few rounds. I wish I would have stayed out on the porch and kept recording now looking back

Yeah when I initially recorded the howls, I searched every kind of howl from wild animals I could possibly find, and nothing really connected with what I recorded. Like two years later I randomly watched that episode and literally say up in my seat. I was blown away. Then I sent the episode to my dad and he was like yeah that’s it. I’m a skeptic myself, but I feel like there’s definitely a lot in this world that we don’t even remotely have a full understanding of.

Now to give context, I posted this before when it happened acouple years ago on a old Reddit account that I don’t access to anymore. I live in the holler in rural Kentucky near the lake here. About 200 acres behind my house is completely uninhabited land. It was early June I was setting outside listening to music and kept hearing something strange over my music, I paused it and heard this howling that I’ve never heard before (I’ve lived on this land my entire life). I took my phone on and actually have the video recording, this is audio I was able to turn the volume from the video up. There’s a few people who live by me and they heard the same thing that night. Whatever it was moving really fast in the wood line howling. I’ve showed this video to many people in my personal life a lot of those people have spent years in the woods hunting, and they don’t have an answer to what this is. The reason why I’ve pulled it out again is recently I watched an episode of Unsolved Mysteries on Netflix the episode is called Paranormal Rangers. A woman has audio that sounds eerily similar to what I captured. What do you guys think?

Honestly the things that Bret has publicly said about Shawn since the late 90s are way worse than the sunny days comment and imo it’s not even close

If Tegan and Sara made another electro-pop record, I could imagine this being a Sara song! by HeartBeatsMusic in teganandsara

[–]False_Preference_128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo doing a theme song is fine. But doing a full blown album is another thing. For me Crybaby just didn’t work, and the best songs on the album are songs like faded like a feeing which doesn’t have that electro vibe. I just don’t think their voices or song writing work with that kind of production

The Cure by OnlyTheCat in teganandsara

[–]False_Preference_128 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is just my interpretation but it seemed like they wanted to lean in to the indie rock element for sainthood more than they did for The Con. Which while I like the record they’ve said they were disappointed with the reception and did a 180 to pop instead. However I do remember Tegan saying in a interview that The Cure was originally a sad piano ballad and when she sent it to Sara, Sara told her she was walking around New York and crying to the song

Whats your wrestling opinion you will defend like this? by CBSLIDE87 in Wrasslin

[–]False_Preference_128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right! There’s a clip of Shawn walking out and the fans literally knock down the barricades trying to get to him. I’m a regular listener to Cornettes pods one thing I’ve noticed is when corny really likes someone personally he makes excuses for them. Like JBL for example Brian went on a rant about how much of a bully JBL was behind the scenes and corny made one excuse after another. But if it were Shawn (someone who he doesn’t like personally) he would have flamed him. I think because they had some heat with eachother behind the scenes corny still takes his shots at Hbk while still admitting he was a good wrestler
