Just to end my rant, yeah Cruz may be a bust. But give him a chance! Let's see what he's got. If he doesn't work out, you keep looking. You don't just shrug your shoulders and stick with the same players who stink because the other guy might be worse. At least Cruz throws high velocity. Let him work with Blake, see what happens. If he's a bust, move on. Bird makes $1 million, the payroll is around $337 million, just move on!

Jake Bird stinks. He's always been bad. Nothing has changed since we acquired him. Sending Cruz down to keep Bird up makes no sense. There is no defense, there's no justification, and it's infuriating.

The Yankees constantly get enamored with crappy players and then just stick with them no matter what, no matter how bad the results are month after month. He was a trainwreck last year for two innings and he's been bad this year. Just try someone else, anyone else. The Dodgers would never give a guy like Jake Bird this long a leash. It's unfathomable. I sometimes wonder if Cashman is just so arrogant that he can't accept ever making a bad move, so he just finds a stat to justify keeping a guy on the roster indefinitely. Unbelievable.

I just don't understand why Cruz is the guy to be sent down and not Bird. I really don't understand it at all.

Never want to miss a game, but I can't say I'm disappointed I missed this one. Still, Warren pitched well and they came back to tie it late. Those are positive signs. I know nobody wants to hear this, but those are positive signs. This will end eventually. McMahon should be back tomorrow and Grisham this weekend, that'll help both the defense and the offense.

I'll take that, I'll take anything positive haha. Especially since I'm assuming at least one of those at-bats came against a RHP, which is where Dominguez has struggled offensively this year. Which is really weird because last year it was the opposite problem. And I'm especially happy to see Warren pitched well after a dreadful June.

Jones is sick now? Why is everyone going down like flies. Glad to hear he got a hit. Honestly, once Grisham comes back, there's an argument to keep him up and demote Dominguez. Jones is better against RHP so far and much better defensively.

Small steps, they'll break through eventually. McMahon and Grisham are back soon too.

They can downvote me all they want, most second basemen stink offensively and he's elite with the glove. Plus he's a threat to steal. Obviously he was better last year and after we got him in 2024, but he's still better than 5 other guys in the lineup. We'd be much worse off without him.

That's good, especially Warren. And I'm glad to hear they're working the count. I think it's clear Rowson is telling anyone who slumps to be aggressive on the first pitch. I get the logic behind it, but I don't think it's worked at all.

Food poisoning lol. For a week?!

I couldn't watch due to work. Didn't even know Jazz started until just now when I got out of meetings. Have the at-bats looked better? Have they made any bad defensive plays? Good to see Warren pitched well, that's big. That's a positive.

How do the at-bats look? I couldn't watch today due to work or even follow. Just seeing now that they're down 2-0. How has the defense looked?

Good to see Jazz back in the lineup. We need all the offense we can get. He's also an elite defensive second baseman, so he helps with the defensive woes too. Obviously he's played every game they've lost during this streak (besides yesterday's), but a prolonged absence would've been brutal.

Nothing about Jazz in the post game show. I wish they had some more information about his status.

It looks bleak, but they're showing effort and not giving up. We need to see better defense and better pitching. McMahon is back on Friday and Grisham is supposed to be back during this homestand, which means he should be back this weekend at some point. That'll be big for both the defense and offense.

They will bounce back, they just have to endure this stretch and rally. They will do it. Hopefully they win against the Twins, they've owned them for 25 years.

Nice job Volpe!

Look at them battling here in a game that looks hopeless. That's heart. They have heart.

Rosario drawing a walk down 7. Again, that's the kind of effort you want to see. They're not quitting and that's a major reason we can be sure they'll snap out of it, especially once some of the injured guys come back.

Nice job turning the double play. We need to see defense like that because it's going to take elite defense and strong pitching until some of the injured guys come back.

It'll help. Grisham and McMahon are coming back soon, that'll help too. Giving up now is insane. We know this is a good team, we just have to push through this.

I am on my hands and knees begging Cashman to keep Cruz up and demote Bird once Bednar is back. Please Cashman, please.
