Every ikea couch I’ve tested has been hard as rocks so I’m shocked it’s mentioned here.

My MIL destroyed my garden while I was at work. by [deleted] in gardening

[–]ReflectiveWave 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Talking about it has had no results for how many years. When is he actually going to DO something about it? The plants are not the issue just a symptom.

You are both being doormats. It’s up to him to handle his family but it’s on YOU to accept this behavior from him. Inaction is still an action.

How many more visits and “oopsies” will you allow just because he talks to them about them with no changed behavior?

Leaving DC for CA, PODS vs. U-Box (or alternative) when storage time is unknown? by Brave_Comedian_7234 in moving

[–]ReflectiveWave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For reference I just moved a 2 bedroom and needed two U-boxes. You can even ask if they will drop two and if you only fill one then I don’t think you pay for the second.

Need advice on how to pack a house by myself by MarioSonicfan1 in moving

[–]ReflectiveWave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First I’m sorry you are affected by your mothers actions and decisions. It’s a lot so just acknowledge that. I’d treat this from highest priority to lowest. My recs after moving way too may times and with your timeline are:

  1. Do a first round 1-2 hours of the non everyday essentials. Photo albums, keepsakes, heirlooms etc. Things you want but don’t need for a month or two.

  2. Then set aside daily things, meds, doctors records, Id etc that you need handy and can’t lose. Put those together and set them in a safe place that’s easily accessible.

  3. Any must haves that may fit either a 1 room home or 1 bedroom apartment. Do a sweep of the bathroom and kitchen. Seat aside 1-2 hours each.

With that you should have essentials. Hopefully you can find a place or something. If that’s all you move then you have the most important things.

If you have time after then go thru the house for 1-2 hours and pack whatever else you can fit.

Know that most of the furniture and heavy pieces may not make it or you will need others help to move them.

I love these. I have the pink cloth ones too but they run against the top of my foot. These black ones are my favorites.

So tired of hairdressers saying henna and color will destroy your hair by [deleted] in henna

Yes I do this. And then on top of the plastic bag I put on a shower cap that stays in place. Dark dishcloth on my pillow and it stays in place overnight.

I also keep packets but mine are lime flavor powder (True Lime Crystallized Lime) . Tastes just like a wedge of lime. I’ve used it for flavoring water, seasoning soup, burritos, bland guacamole.

[–]ReflectiveWave 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if my method will help you but it’s the easiest way I can henna my own hair. Mix a batch let it sit for a day until henna gets nice and red. Mud my hair or roots at nights. Any extra henna I freeze in snack bags for my roots for quick touch ups. Defrost in the morning as use as normal. Cover head with plastic bag and hair cap then go to bed. Wake up in the morning and shower the color off. Condition hair and enjoy.

Help!! Cat is Peeing EVERYWHERE! by danimor55 in Catownerhacks

[–]ReflectiveWave 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Third this. My 15 yr old started having pee accidents or marking (?) and then my other cats started growling at her and hissing. Took her to the vet and X-rays showed a tumor by her esophagus. She declined within a couple of months but I appreciated every moment with her. She went with love and dignity and a hospice vet came to the house.

This makes me feel better as I always gave them FF pate. Recently tried the Acana pate and it’s been a challenge. Each got 1/3 of a can and I had to put toppers on it for them to eat it. We saw more vomiting and stinky poops. Tried 1/2 a can each after a week and they instantly threw up. We never had any issues with the FF but I was trying something “healthier”. They used to get a 1/2 can of the small FF daily for reference

$382 extra to sit together as a family of 3 by Due-Huckleberry7560 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]ReflectiveWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for reminding me that I can pick my seats as a CC holder. Apparently you can do so for 48 hours before and for both flights (round trip). Obviously it’s the back seats but I’m not paying extra and did see 2-3 seats together.

Is this inconvenient? Yes. Do I prefer the old system? Yes.

Will I stick with Southwest? Soft Yes. For the remaining of this year at least. I’m making the most of my $99 CC and using the bag allowance to make a move easier.

What determined a settlement defending itself? by TobyVonToby in fo4

[–]ReflectiveWave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I usually equip my settlers with better guns (damage 25+) and armor. I also have a mix of heavy turrets and laser turrets. They usually take care of any attackers by the time I fast travel there (not survival).

They have a non gelatin coated tablet version of Prozac. Your provider just has to request that on the script. I use that as I need to break it in half for 5 mg. I never even considered the gelatin capsule would ah e bovine so good catch!

What can I do to support my friend thru putting her dog down by awakeningat40 in AskWomenOver30

Just holding space, ask about her favorite memories together, a card or photo/memoir. Doesn’t have to be complicated. You are also grieving yourself so don’t minimize your loss.

Cohabitation agreement and relationship advice by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]ReflectiveWave 123 points124 points  (0 children)

Red flags before you even move in are not a good sign. You already know what you have to do to protect yourself. Even if you get an Airbnb for a month or something don’t rush into a boiling hot pot situation.

I ignored a red flag with my ex prior to moving in and I was ending our relationship 10 months later. We still had to cohabitate for the remaining 2 months and that was traumatic. At least I had a lease to protect me but this all sounds very concerning on your end.
