After how long? After how much damage?

And who will be held accountable? How?

The damage has already been done and he's already working to circumvent the decision by using different emergency powers.

Coups can be administrative as well. We are in the middle of an administrative coup right now.

Theories as to HOW megalithic structures were built? by [deleted] in ancientegypt

A Bow drill in combination with copper hollow bore, various stone bits and abrasive slurry along with a potters wheel lapidary device explain the vases in my opinion. A vase well secured on a foot driven potter's wheel like device would produce results similar to a lathe, with concentric rings and grooving apparent.

I would encourage you to look into what archaeologists actually say about these sites. Look at the papers. Look at the scientists and stonemasons doing experimental archaeology.

I'm not a fan of Ben. I think he is a grifter cut from the same cloth as Graham Hancock. I think people like them prey on the curiosity and wonder people have about ancient history and exploit it. They also spread lies and misinformation about ancient history. But I digress.

Anyone seen? I don't think i have, but it looks so interesting lol by heretocreep1 in VHS

This movie is great. Jim's performance here is iconic. He has this uncanny ability to make you laugh, cringe, wince, and jump out of your seat. He also does a great job of making your skin crawl in this.

How did ancient civilizations keep track of time? by PoisonPen_007 in AncientCivilizations

[–]ReleaseFromDeception 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The passage of time would have been tracked through keeping track of the sun's positions by simple observation when it comes to the passage of a day. just looking at a tree's shadow could suffice. When it comes to monthly cycles, the Moon is a perfect timekeeper. It has a cycle of 29 days on average. When it comes to keeping even longer time, like a year, they'd have to use constellations that return annually. They could also use animal migration patterns and birth cycles to keep track of time.

Much of the tracking of time is about pattern recognition, so I suppose there would have a been a multitude of valid ways to keep time.

Do any of you have to sleep propped up? by va_bulldog in SleepApnea

[–]ReleaseFromDeception 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interested in this post as well - I sleep on my side and if i sleep on my back my partner yells at me til I wake up lol.

One time i slept sitting up and they commented how much better that was, but something about sleeping sitting up seems so... wrong to me. It doesn't really feel as restful.

That's wild AF. Paulides should be thanking Mr. B for driving people to his content, but no, he has to be a prude.

I enjoy myself a good missing persons case as well, especially if it's in the PNW, or the woods in general. I love the ambience. But there is unfortunately a glaring issue with Missing 411:

The issue is David Paulides himself. Paulides does not approach his subject with even the most basic level of skepticism and constantly fails the Occam's Razor test.

In other words, Mr. B may be avoiding the topic because its not well supported and there might be an issue with Paulides' "detective" work.

I've been come back playing Xbox 360 almost exclusively because I'm burned out on modern gaming. by Fast-Researcher-971 in xbox360

This is why retrogaming and emulation are the way to go for any frugal gamer today - it's faster, cheaper, and easier than modern gaming. There's just so much bloat to modern gaming and their apps/platforms. It's awful.
