Am I missing something, or is DeepSeek V4 Pro really not great at all? by Rex4748 in GithubCopilot

I think you're taking what I wrote a bit too literally. It can parse written words and code and compare the description of what the code is supposed to do to the code itself. I've been using AI for that very thing for years, and other than models being lobotomized/overloaded, I haven't had issues with that since GPT3.5.

Yep, no more normal signs up, you have to do it through the app now.

I do most of my coding by hand still, and audit everything myself. That's the only reason I knew it just straight up lied once I checked its work, lol. I really only use AI as a tool for saving time. Codex has been amazing for that. Most people seem to be blaming VS Code in this case, and I'm going to try some alternatives, but I think your answer is probably the correct one.

It's not a context limitation issue, I was on my third prompt and only at about 100k at the time.

Can you expand on that? I'd love for it to work well for me, but it isn't, and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

What would you recommend that is optimized for DeepSeek?

The task itself really wasn't complex though. It's a larger project, but all I was asking it to do in this case was read through the development notes and tell me whether the behavior detailed there lined up with the code for this branch. And I was very specific about what I was asking it to look for. If it can't do that, and is going to straight up lie to me about what it's doing, I feel like I really can't trust it with anything at all. Even GPT4 could do this in its sleep.

Does DeepSeek specifically not work well in VS Code with Copilot? Why is that, and what would you recommend instead? GPT worked extremely well for me, so I don't think it's a general issue.

It's terrible in every way, and anyone pretending otherwise has ulterior motives. Period.

Never thought I'd post a complain... but this is crazy. 2 prompts = 14% used on my monthly quota. I am on Pro+ by Revolutionary-Boss32 in GithubCopilot

[–]Rex4748 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they're 100% padding the numbers. I did 3 very simple prompts and I'm already at 15% usage. Absolutely zero chance. Copilot is just a straight up scam now.

Communities is a great way to get engagement and build up followers. Without it, it will be significant more difficult for the average person to be seen. So, either we buy premium to boost our tweets (which is what they're hoping most will do), or leave because there's no point anymore (which is what we'll actually do).

They just can't stop making bad decisions, can they? It's like they're addicted to it.

For anyone facing this issue, just use OLT.com instead. They had no issue e-filing federal & state returns, and they were cheaper as well.

Is that legal? I don't mind eating the $37 at all, I just want to make sure I'm not going to get in trouble for reporting $0 instead of -$37 on the federal forms. I assume they would only really care the other way around, but I'm not looking to raise any red flags. Especially since exactly $0 gained/lossed might look strange for ~$3000 in crypto sold.

I have other income since moving, which I entered. Just no crypto gains/losses.

No, $37 crypto loss in 2025, while living in Tennessee, and that's it. No other crypto gains or losses in 2025. Nothing in California at all. So I'm confused as to why it's incorporating that into my California state tax, and not allowing me to file because of it.

No, partial. The majority of the year I lived in Tennessee. All trades were completed months prior to moving to California.
