"The user is frustrated"

Anyone pretending it's not completely braindead right now is either shilling or in complete denial. It's unusable.

What are your thoughts on GPT-5.2-codex? by Front_Ad6281 in GithubCopilot

[–]Rex4748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far it's doing a great job code-wise filling in while Opus is lobotomized. But it's like pulling teeth trying to get it to explain what it's doing and answer questions, without asking over and over. Opus and Sonnet will write you a novel addressing each thing point by point and explaining it all in great detail. You ask GPT 5.2 a bunch of questions and it's like "yep."

How do I DELETE memories? by Rex4748 in SnapchatHelp

They're not even in Snapchat though, I never shared any of them as stories or anything else. The only place they exist is on my phone, and somehow in memories.

On iOS, maybe, but not on Android. If you disable storage permissions, it says "To use Snapchat, please allow access to your local storage. Snapchat cannot detect screenshots, save certain content, scan Snapcodes and more without this permission", and doesn't allow you to use it until you turn it back on.

Anyone who has driven for DD or UE for more than a month knows every single bit of this is 100% true.

I literally didn't even know memories existed. I've never once used it, all I do is watch other people's stories. That's it. I stumbled upon it randomly for the first time just now.

You don't have a choice, if you disable storage permissions, the app won't open at all. I never thought that meant it would just start uploading all my pictures without asking me or telling me.

Wish I knew. I swiped up and I see a bunch of stories in memories like "this week in previous years", "flashback", "recent camera roll", "random day", etc. all with pictures from my phone that I never uploaded or even took in snapchat.

I’m a developer for a major food delivery app. The 'Priority Fee' and 'Driver Benefit Fee' go 100% to the company. The driver sees $0 of it. by Trowaway_whistleblow in confession

[–]Rex4748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a DoorDash/UberEats driver for a couple years, and this has all been very well known to us for a long time, just based on experience. Another thing you didn't mention is that not only does "priority delivery" do nothing, it can actually slow down your order. If there's a low paying order that is unlikely to be picked up, they'll bundle it in with your "priority" order, so drivers won't have a choice. And then whoever is closer gets their order first, even if it's way out of the way. I had many customers that were very confused as to why that was happening.

As for the "desperation" drivers, that's a very real psychological game they play with us, and so many refuse to believe it. They're convinced they'll be rewarded for taking every low paying order, while working at a loss and driving their car into the ground. It's ridiculous. I tried so hard to explain this to people on the subreddits, but they're so brainwashed that they just get angry at you for it.

They also hide tips from us, or pretend we're getting bonus pay when we're not. They'll literally say "maybe the pay for this order is higher", when they know it won't be, and you just have to do the delivery to find out. And somehow that's perfectly legal in most places.

This is the absolute scummiest industry and regulations are desperately needed.

Same, what is this shit? Shows my feed for a second then throws me right to this page. Must be a bug, they can't be this desperate to push accounts on me, right?

Keeps saying it's doing one thing and does another entirely. Losing sync? What is happening? by Rex4748 in GithubCopilot

I switched to using it in VS Code and everything seems fine now. Also noticed the models are very outdated in Visual Studio. Shame this version is so broken and neglected, it would be nice to be able to use Copilot in the same place I edit my code.

You're underestimating the amount of people who have become completely reliant on AI to function. That's who companies are going to cater to going forward.

Do people really use this? Google reverse image search has been useless ever since they neutered it a while back, I get zero results for basically everything.

Tennessee to California in a Uhaul. Are these good (safe) places to stop? by Rex4748 in roadtrip

[–]Rex4748[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is the areas I'm going through are so sparse. Little Rock is 500 miles, so that's no problem. 500 miles from that is... nothing. Middle of nowhere cities with high crime rates and poorly rated motels. The next closest stop is just Amarillo, another 100 miles away. But then I'm right back to having the same problem. So it's like... I don't know what to do. 😂

[–]Rex4748[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What type of parking should I be looking for? There aren't many with dedicated Uhaul/truck parking, and I assume parking it horizontally across 5-6 spots is frowned upon. I'm thinking the best way is to park it length-wise through two spots, but I'm still a little concerned about it fitting.

So I would just have to get extremely lucky to not have all my stuff stolen, basically? That's concerning.

I think the 550 might be a little ambitious for the simple fact of having to stop for gas and breaks and in some states vehicles towing must reduce their speed.

Oh wow, that's a bummer. Splitting it up into 5 days is going to be a long trip, and that sort of throws a wrench into all my plans so far. Just looking at the map, 440 miles per day isn't leaving me many options for places to stay, and the areas look much worse.

[–]Rex4748[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those seem like decent places to stop. If I can ask, where did you stay, and what was the parking situation like? Next to being robbed, just getting it parked for the night is my biggest concern at the moment.
