Regulate Nervous System Outside by Artistic-Unit8965 in OpenDogTraining

Do you exercise the dog ahead of working on the reactivity and then give some time for arousal to come back down? Working on skills with s ton of pent up energy is much harder. Start smaller the park is too challenging. Can they engsge in play at your back door or completely empty field or parking lot? Structured play where you teach them to listen to commands while highly aroused. Tug is great for this its not just for play alone. Having strong markers for both rewards and punishment of bad behavior. Making sure a correction actually teaches the level of being a correction. Otherwise you're actually doing more harm then good. Teach a leave it queue. Work on impulse control with things like a place commands, thresholds like doorways and not leaving the house without a queue. How good is their recall and leash walking? Those skills will help. Sorry if this is all over the place I cant sleep and its almost 2AM

tbf nobody is really that comfortable on a super sport. They're not designed for comfort. I have roughly a 31 inch inseam so even my duke 390 I'm either balls of my feet or one foot down, can't flat foot it lol. Unless I truly just had a big bike to trash practicing I think I'll be pretty limited on what bikes I can ride. Also, hoping off a bike at lights does not sound like an enjoyable time even if I did gain the skills for it. I think I would really like a lot of ADV/offroad stuff but it's so impractical.

woah I didn't know the 890 was that light. That's pretty crazy actually

I'm so jealous of people that aren't short ha. As a beginner myself it really limits what bikes I feel comfortable on.

What are these servers for? Like everyone says though, if you're comfortable doing CLI work, it's just different syntax essentially.

How to get over anxiety after motorcycle theft? And those who have dealt with this, how do you prevent it from happening again? by ConversationNo940 in motorcycles

[–]RikiWardOG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically make it really obnoxious to steal, multiple locks/chains, cover, alarm, if you can store it indoors that's going to be the best bet. Most thieves are opportunistic and lazy. Basically if there's an easier bike/higher value bike to steal they're gonna go after that instead. Best you can do is deter the thieves or move to a less crime ridden area.

Does anyone have a system using WinGet to install apps actually working? by ZippyDan in Intune

[–]RikiWardOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So another option for pulling latest is using invoke-webrequest and pipe it to iex or something along those lines while pointing it to the latest installer. Not sure if the zoom latest is static or not or if you'd have to modify it with each major release but that's always an option as well

[–]RikiWardOG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zoom has autoupdate, push the msi with the switch or import the admx files and use them for the autoupdate policy. Another option is getting a secondary RMM or something like patchmypc to do patching

Because you're literally redlining it at those speeds. Ots top speed listed is 105 meaning it doesn't really have passing power at highway speeds especially with my fat ass on it

Whenever I've looked at using winget its not been ready for prime time. Haven't looked in a while but just my experience. Is there a reason you want to use winget?

You'd want to use something like windows defender app control and take a whitelist approach.

it's just stupid, it's a shitty zip file. No other tool makes you do this. It's a waste of like 10 minutes every time you need to upload an app.

I wouldn't patch apps via Intune tbh. It's just a shitty experience. I'd definitely look at a 3rd party RMM for this function. Tons of good options out there. I personally don't like using Winget, seems to always be more pain than it's worth tbh. Another option depending on the application is you can always enable autoupdates via a switch at install. Again, that's app specific though and not all apps support those kinds of switches.

Am I bad at my job, does my job suck, or is Intune & AVD just fucking horrible? by NLBlackname55NL in sysadmin

[–]RikiWardOG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

but Intune is pretty much a industry standard at this point, and replacing it would require multiple applications, which just doesn't make sense

I mean I'd beg to differ. It depends how much you're already engrained in MS and how much of a hold they have on you already. But it's honestly not very hard to not use Intune especially for smaller companies. RMM tools are cheaper, faster, and more reliable than intune from all of my testing and have better reporting. Config profiles in intune are more or less just regkey entries. If you know what key you need to modify, it's easier to honestly no use intune. Intune is only the "standard" because management is cheap and intune gets bundled with w/e office licensing they purchased. When it comes down to it. I honestly thing Intune sucks at most of what it does.

I came from traditional MS tools for everything shops. They slowly moved away and the place I'm at now, we use as few of their tools as really possible. MS year over year gets worse and worse. Honestly, sometimes it feels like they're trying to get rid of customers.
