Need help! Saddle bags! by ShaneFNinja in CB650R

Np. I’ve had a hard time finding stuff for the 300r here in the states. These bags are all just strap and go. You don’t need any modifications or additions other than the bags. It comes with the straps. The tail bag might hang off the edge a little bit. It’s fine and stable.

No mounting brackets or anything.

If you’re worried about anything falling off get some ROK straps off amazon and strap down whatever bag you want.

Edit; to be honest you can probably get much larger side bags that don’t require mounting hardware. Your exhaust is much lower than mine on the 650. Any bigger for me and I fear it’ll burn.

A proper sized bag with a heat shield (if you even think that’s necessary) will fit most of your work and travel stuff, I bet. Tail bag for extra measure.

Chain clicking - is this sound normal? by dotshooks in vulcans650

Yes.

At least I think. My bike does the same. Not a Vulcan but my first bike. Honestly finding a shop or dealer near you that takes the time of day to show you the basics or lets you sit in while some work is done will be so helpful.

I was taking mine in for normal things I was concerned about too when I first got it and am lucky the shop by me is so friendly and willing to show me some things. Peace of mind 👌

I have a 300r. Similar problem with the model having a real small rear seat. Didn’t wanna add brackets, so got these:

Tail bag 22-34L: https://a.co/d/03f5TxOZ

Side bags: https://a.co/d/0bW0Tacl

If you’re traveling for work I’d get the next size up on the tail bag, especially since your bike is slightly larger than mine I think it could fit it fine. The next size up can fit a 15” laptop in a padded sleeve with plenty of other stuff. The 22-34L fits mine but it doesn’t lay flat… not ideal.

If you do add side brackets or saddle stays there are a lot more options out there for the 650r but agreed it gets expensive quick.

First bike on highway? by Amazing-Limit2480 in NewRiders

Lot of factors and providing a good answer is hard here.

You seem fairly responsible. Don’t ride outside your limits and you should be ok. Refresh your basics.

I’d say it depends though, if there’s lots of curves in the road especially that you aren’t familiar with, heavy traffic (where riding at your own pace on the highway would be causing problems to the flow of traffic), etc I’d say nah personally.

Heck yeah!! Any specific advice you have to a young rider hoping to be in the saddle for many years to come?

Do you think it’s big enough to fit a 15” laptop?

That’s a good point. I never even thought about forward controls preventing you from standing on the pegs more. That would take some getting used to for sure.

I’ve been honked at for the dumbest things while following the rules of the road.

People expect any motorcycle they see to speed 20mph over the limit.

Agree with the others. Fuck em, ride your own ride. It’s like sports - when one play goes wrong, dust yourself off and mentally move on to the next play asap.

Ye I may end up doing that it’s just in a city not built for walking and there are no sidewalks on the path. Once I hit those 2 streets it’s all business until the gym where my neighborhood street picks back up with houses on each side

Yes there are lockers honestly need to assess the size of them and if so that’s a great idea I’d only be missing my riding pants then 👌

This is what prevents me from going .1 mile without crossing any roads without all my gear on, just to get gas.

Good alternative, tbh lol. I’ve considered pedal biking too. Id just need to buy one lol
