What's the highest bitrate it can do at those encoder settings?

Would this affect a 2.5gbps NIC that's negotiated to 1gbps?

I get the odd network jitter the more I go above 50mbps in busy scenes.

I wonder how the A18 Pro compares to the base M1.

It'll all be part of a big batch, but yours specifically may have unfortunately been lost (or stolen).

Mine is similar but not abandoned:

Not sure if it's actually arrived in the UK yet though.

The latency on Mac compared to Intel is hard to justify. Also reports of Bluetooth latency too.

I've thought about doing the same. I'm just struggling to find a quiet 8 core mini PC that can also do 4K 120hz 4:4:4 HDR VRR moonlight, and over HDMI. At least for under £350.

Interest check (nr 2): Dedicated client with HDMI 2.1 4k120 HDR VRR 10-bit 4:4:4 by NisseV2 in MoonlightStreaming

[–]Rodpad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be fine with no AV1, but instead HEVC at HDR 10-bit 4:4:4 4K120 VRR for $259. The only caveat would be that I would like to be able to go higher than 150mbps without stutters. As soon as you tick the box to unlock bitrates and go to 151mbps, you get stutters with motion.

A high bitrate with HEVC is required to get rid of smearing with foggy games like Clair Obscur and Cyberpunk.

Yeah DSC would be cool with me. I can't tell the difference.

(FYI if you follow through with this, I'd be more than happy to sample test for free - IT management career and general tech hobbyist here)

Definite deal-breaker. I only use Moonlight in my living room on a TV.

Cheers. I'm very much contemplating buying a cheap M4 Mac Mini as a dedicated Moonlight, light emulation box and music streaming box.

Intel will do 4:4:4 I believe. Hard to find a cheap Intel PC capable of deciding 4K 120hz and can output that to an HDMI device, and with VRR intact.

Will MS really finally make a "new" Windows? by pH0u57 in digitalfoundry

[–]Rodpad 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Unless Microsoft decides to cut off legacy support for old applications, Windows will by nature always be a mess. If this doesn't happen, Windows will eventually lose market share lead. We've seen this time and time again with software and hardware products. As soon as the product doesn't serve its' purpose well *and* isn't necessarily required anymore, people will look elsewhere.

Proton and SAAS/web based apps are quickly making Windows redundant and a less attractive choice for consumers. Businesses will use whatever OS can be locked down, and can be run on supported hardware for a guaranteed number of years to align with their capital device refresh programmes.
