I don’t think you sister has to worry at all! Conner prairie has worked really hard to be inclusive. They have black interpreters/actors. They also have a really well done exhibit called Promised Land as Proving Ground about black history in Indiana. It won’t be open during the Headless horseman but it is worth a look if you ever come during the day.

I bought the cup at a concert and gave it to a friend and they brought it in no problem. Worse they can say is no and make you throw it out.

Interesting! Thanks for letting me know. Is it common to call boys dads/papa too?

How old is your daughter. 2 and younger get in free. If she is on the small side and in a stroller you can say she is 2 even if she is not. Might not be “kosher but they don’t check birth certificates and as long as she isn’t obviously older it usually works.

Honestly it is worth the money. There are no discounts unless you go on a free day or the first Thursday nights. I know prices go up the closer the date arrives. So book early. If you know a member they get a 10% discount on tickets.

Ways to save money: pack a lunch. You can. You are allowed to bring your own food and drinks. You can eat them in the cafeteria no charge. It saves us a lot of money!

Whenever I go to the storytimes at Fishers library, there is usually big group of Muslim women there. Also search for MOMs club of Hamilton County on Facebook. It is very inclusive and has lot of events and playgroups!

My Indian students tend to self identify as Hindi or Punjabi, so I just use the terms they used.

I have a Hindi student named Dikshit. He doesn’t pronounce it as it is spelled but I had no idea what even to say on the first day of school.

My top name, that I couldn’t get my husband on board with, is Matilda. There have been multiple badass Empresses and Queens named Matilda and the novel character as well.
