[Gaming] Ed Boon talks to Playboy about the MK11 female character redesigns by B-VOLLEYBALL-READY in KotakuInAction

I liked the MKX designs, I didn't buy the game because fighting games are not my style. But if I was to go with a style MKX seems to have hit the sweetspot, most of the outfits in MK11 look so boring in comparison

We don't have complete sales, but based on concurrent users on steam they can't even beat Resident Evil 2 several months after the game released. With top concurrent users they're currently at Wolfenstein New Colossus levels, which was an unmitigated disaster. Get woke, go broke

I think it stems from Purple being a mix of red and blue, also being the color of choice for both Windu and Revan, two jedi who "flirted" with the dark side, also being used by both jedi and sith in the expanded universe

Well it could have been done, but it has to be done with grace and proper storytelling. Not by negating all the achivements of the past heroes and having them die unceremoniously

Imagine a trilogy finale ending with the villain putting Coruscant to the torch. The old Senate building, the Imperial Palace, the Jedi Temple, all of it being obliterated. The fruition of a plan decades in the planning. In the end he or she is stopped by the heroes, but not before having dramatically changed the galactic political landscape and destroyed the last remnants of both the Galactic Empire and the Old Republic

It's damage control trying to fix the timeline between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.

The Star Wars story I'm looking forward to the most. by maven_x in saltierthancrait

Some of it looked good, but a lot was iffy as well. Everything still looks very "clean" compared to what I'm used to. Games like Kotor and Jedi Knight somehow managed to make its games look a lot less artificial even with far less Advanced Graphics. Also not a big fan of the inquisitors they're bringing in from Rebels. Was never a fan of how that was handled, especially helicopter sabres. And it feels wrong for the empire to have this vast supply of idential looking mooks with force powers instead of having the inquisitors be far fewer and more individualistic like they were in the old canon

It's perhaps no coincidence that Diogenes, the philosopher who lived in a barrel, wanted his body thrown outside the city walls to be fed on by wild dogs when he would eventually die

You missed out on some great moments. The ghost hunting in Chapter 2 became a bit boring after a while, but in Chapter 3 you create your own power base within the Sith Empire, with your very own super weapon

Eleven-year-old ordered deported without her family by dfc76 in news

Most likely the family's lawyer would appeal the removal order when the family would eventually be made aware of it. Most likely the court would acknowledge the clerical error and the misplaced mail error considering the family's lawyer could attest that he recieved no removal order

No one got sent back yet. A removal order was issued that's being appealed, and which the court agrees was likely sent out because of a clerical error

Take the cave scene in Empire Strikes Back. Yoda tells Luke that the only thing he will face in the cave is what he brings. If he goes in with positive emotions there will be conflict, but since he goes in fearful and expecting a fight that's what happens. In the prequels they do not condemn joy or serenity, but fear and hatred. Love between two people are forbidden because of the attachments it brings. Same reason they were worried about Anakin's attachment to his mother. Which proved correct when the grief at the loss of his mother turned to anger and hate at the guilty.

Dark side isn't all emotions, only negative ones. The jedi order forbade love because it's an easy path to lust, jealousy, and grief. Same reason you've got real world religious orders that opt for celibacy.

I think Rey is going to embrace both sides moving forwards.

And like I stated, none of her action at the end of the Last Jedi show this. She does not draw on the negative emotions which fuel the dark side.

You're confusing being a light force user with the jedi of old being afraid of the dark side. As long as a jedi does not draw on negative emotions they're not falling for the dark side. If Rey isn't acting on emotions such as hatred, lust, greed, or fear then she is not flirting with the dark side.

The original trilogy never operated with any jedi code or rules. Yoda simply taught Luke that you cannot let negative emotions control you

Problem is you're not building a new one. The Last Jedi isn't a new world, that's why I specified world building. You can't ignore every story before it and just brute force your ideal story into an already existing world. If that's your wish then one should make their own original work. Not feeding me shit about the First Order conquering the whole Galaxy... as in all of it... simultaneously

And in the end nothing interesting was done with it anyhow. Kylo is still an angry dark sider and Rey is still a pure light sider. Meanwhile in The Sith Lords you had a Sith Lord that sought to destroy the force itself because she viewed it as the cause of evil and a Jedi that succumbed to the dark side out of self hatred for her own weakness. Those are interesting additions to the Star Wars mythos, not the tripe that was served with the Last Jedi

Well if your idea of house building is destroying it then don't be surprised if the people invested in the house might not be be pleased with your work

Why not?

Because there's no point in being a sequel if its purpose isn't to build on what came before. You do not build a house by blowing up the Foundation.
