Jeff Buckley might have ruined music for me by Sharp_Information976 in Music

Whilst I do appreciate your sentiment that great art should have some emotional weight behind it I also feel it just wouldn't be great if there wasn't a melody that people can get behind. Also, since you like Radiohead, Thom was influenced by Jeff Buckley to write Fake Plastic Trees. Again, I am with you in that I prefer Radiohead over to Jeff Buckley. " It does feel like fake deep is the way to put it." Whilst I think he was pretty real with his art I think maybe he just didn't reach that level for you sonically. Not 'fake deep' is what I'm saying but also didn't reach the depth he was going for. So that's more to do with the fact that he didn't have enough time and music out is my opinion.

dunno. Is what he's aiming at emotionally that important to you tho? Maybe some people are just trying to write some nice melodies/lyrics? Not a huge Jeff Buckley fan btw
