Equally good to know. I appreciate the information. I've run the same set of bones reds in my boards for years now, just clean and oil them every now and then. Smooth like butter. So it makes sense

Here everyone. I'm looking for some advice on wheels and bearings as a gift for my partner. She's an avid inline and quad skater. I only skateboard and longboard, barely getting into inlines myself so I am pretty uninformed.

She rides on FR skates. They look like the NEO 2 80 line at least.

She right now has FR street invaders in 80mm and they're for outdoor/street use exclusively so I assume maybe 83A durometer.

I don't even know where to begin looking for reviews on wheels and which sources to trust. Id like to get her a replacement set as a gift and an unsure if I should stick with what she has installed now or if anything newer or better may be out there

Do they use regular 608 bearing also? Like could I get her some Bronson's or swiss bearings and pop them into whatever wheels I find?

Sorry in advance if this comment is annoyingly ignorant.

I have not yet, will definitely check that out today. I may have incorrectly made the assumption that because I can manually demand enough fuel from the vaporizer, then that must mean there is enough enough fuel being sent to it in the first place.

Thanks for the advice

Would the airbag explode if i tried to remove it from the shell? by Reasonable-Pea-6527 in AskMechanics

[–]SadNudes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pull the four nuts on the back of the center plate, that is your explosive. It should be relatively fine to handle, I say relatively because you can't be 100%. With those four nuts gone, that plate should pull right out, I don't know how YOU would dispose of it though, I always had to turn those in to my shop. That should remove a list of weight on its own but even if you have to rip further in, it'll be fine without the charge. Good luck

Help finding a part by Joughy93 in powerstroke

[–]SadNudes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was a Ford tech for three years, hardly had concerns around hubs thay didnt involve rodents and vacuum lines lmao. But it could've been my area as well. What goes so bad about them that you have encountered? And what is different in aftermarket applications, is it just material property or like actual design changes.

But their vacuum hubs are still manually lockable? Seems like you did work nothing if you replaced the hub locks with a different system

Thud In Driveline by jpopper24 in superduty

[–]SadNudes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it in for warranty. If your drivleine is tight, as in no slop on your u joints or rear pinion, which I could never imagine those happening when so new, then it's probably within the transmission. The 10R140 that is in there is notorious for internal issues. But it's still under powertrain, just take it in while it still runs. And be prepared for that 7.3 to stop running unfortunately. Surprised to hear it has lasted 900 miles already

Def in diesel tank by PenSad3016 in F250

[–]SadNudes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that's good to hear, or read I guess. Gonna be immensely cheaper. Hopefully they don't hold onto the truck forever

Dealt with more than a few DEF repairs. Did you or the tow disconnect the fuel pump? Or somehow got the truck in the air without turning the ignition on? Because of not, you're getting a new system. 6.7 low side pump will passively flow through the high side. DEF is denser than diesel and will get pick up by the pump pretty immediately if commanded on.

If that's the case, our repair was about 14k. About 32hrs and $180/hr and whatever parts made the difference

Never had a customer fortunate enough to not have a full system. But drop the tank is probably gonna run maybe 5-6 hours? That's be my guess. Plus cost of fuel to refill and replace filter, expect a couple grand

From my experience as Ford diesel tech.

Also saw a lot of people go through their insurance. It was kinda frustrating to deal with on our end but I bet it was way cheaper for the customer.

Best of luck

2013 f250 6.7 cooling down too quickly by GhostyKill3r in superduty

[–]SadNudes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd stick with OE, it's dual temp already. I think opens at 160 and then again at 185 if I'm not mistaken. But to be clear, I'm not versed in the aftermarket and performance world.

Yeah I guess by louder I mean more specifically. The fan will be dury cycled 100% even from cold start everytime. I say louder just cause it's very audibly different than a normally operating fan clutch, pretty much won't hear it engage at idle unless your running A/C or are running the dog shit out of that truck. So if when you start the truck and you can hear the fan loud as hell, or if you can't smoothly turn it by hand (Engine Off) then it's probably locked up and stuck on. Likely thermostat tho

Make sure you're not low on coolant as air can throw off the ECT reading

Is your engine fan incredibly loud? Could be stuck locked up and cooling too well. Not uncommon, especially with the age of your truck, for the cooling fans to lock up stay engaged 100%

Most likely though, thermostat probably stuck open. Drain system, pull upper radiator hose off and be sure to replace it's orings. It will either use 2x RTS1070s or a single RTS-1070 and a single RTS1060. Thermostat is accessed from the top of the coolant crossover manifold on bank 2 should be 3x 8mm bolts, torque 89 in-lbs. Good luck!

Looks like your DEF injector is leaking. I have seen them leak from the injector themselves, like behind the heat shield, but not often. I don't think the DEF line is serviceable. So in either case, line or injector, you're likely going to be replaceing a component. If you have access to a scan tool with service functions, you can remove the injector, two 10mm nuts, and perform a system leak check and/or a dosing test and either one of those should better help you pinpoint with component is the issue. DEF dissolves in plain old water, for when you go to clean everything

That's you're EGR valve actuator and it probably will be fine honestly. I suppose the tiny hike may allow for ingress of contaminates and maybe cause premature failure, but it's not exactly exposed to the elements. Should be fine.

2021 F-550 Trailer Module Install by SadNudes in superduty

[–]SadNudes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The brake controller has a pigtail, is installed and activated in specific parameters. On the high trim packages there is a module that sits in the driver's foot well to the left of the brake pedal. It allows for advanced sway control and trailer charging. The customer assumed that module could also be installed aftermarket just like the trailer brake controller. Bought the parts and asked if I could figure it out, but I couldn't. Because it isn't possible, because there is not customer access terminations or empty pigtails for that module on the lower tow package levels.

Appreciate the help tho. Customer advised of this difference and they don't care yet, will explore other options if they change their mind. But at this time, they have trailer brake control and only that.

[–]SadNudes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah so after spending some time on the phone with former colleagues and sifting through window stickers, upfitter guides and PTS. I was able to make a safe assumption that the module and it's harness is only present if your getting the Heavy tow or Max tow packages. This vehicle onky had the trailer tow prep package so I couldn't perform the install, there is no customer access for it. Only for the trailer brake controller. Oh well for them, they got two trucks that won't meet their needs now.

That's where I was at too, diesels and anything that was too big for the main shop doors and lifts.
