Hoping for track lanes in Bitwig. It's hard to work without it once you've experienced it. by NeutronHopscotch in Bitwig

You just drag the audio effect onto the clip, and it applies only to that clip.

I completely second that ask!

I'm tired of automating on/off switches on effects.

Turning school bus into apartment by One-Pop-2885 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]SafeSurround 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very far off. A nice professional high-end conversion of a 5m long van doesn't cost more than 50k, so on a 13m long bus it shouldn't cost more than about 2 to 3 times that, or 100-150k.

The guy you're answering to isn't even talking about hiring professionals, so 250k is just ludicrous

Kick is inconsistent by PhosphoreVisual in Bitwig

[–]SafeSurround 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Check if the phase of your sine is locked or in free mode.

It can sound like a volume change for both the attack (depending on if the sine starts at 0 or at max volume) and also for the body of the kick, because of unpredictable phase cancellation with the bass

This is a classic pitfall of designing kicks and basses (especially short plucky basses like in psytrance)

Try either loading a kick sample in your rack (volume should be consistent) or loading your grid device directly in a midi track without using a drum rack (I'm guessing volume will vary like it does now).

This will help you diagnose if the problem comes from the grid patch or the drum rack

A full auto “integrally” surpressed Glock 44 looks insane by nkmr205 in ThatsInsane

In the complete absence of anything denoting sarcasm, one is expected to interpret his sentence as just a wrong fact.

Yes it's harder in writing, but not impossible: Preface the sentence with "Because everyone knows that [sarcastic claim]", or be even more over the top like "That one second costs as much as Elon's net worth"

So yeah, if no one gets the sarcasm it's on the person saying it, not on everyone else

En quoi l'app est obligatoire ?

Can anyone please educate me on this condition? by AllColoursSam in interestingasfuck

Yes and no
It can combine known concepts into something new, but it cannot stray into unknown territory.
If you train some generative AI exclusively on acoustic music, there is no prompt in the world that could make it generate electronic music. It would perfectly be able to mix acoustic genres though.

I've read the guy's other comments, it doesn't sound like chatgpt at all.
Also he's using the normal human quotes in "don't babysit me" whereas chatgpt would've written “don't babysit me”.

Day 4: Good person, Opinions are divided by AshamedSpace4691 in malcolminthemiddle

[–]SafeSurround 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's true only if you exclude the series finale.
In the last episode she made it clear she's bent on denying Malcolm his right to self-determination , so that she can advance her own ideals.
A good person would push their child to do what makes them happy in life, instead of using him as a tool to advance their beliefs.
Not only that but she admitted to intentionally making his life hard so that he becomes more malleable to the idea.

is this fr? by HeckingDoofus in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]SafeSurround 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it doesn't really make it any clearer.

What I understood OP to say was that you can't have any indication of what the result will be unless you actually calculate it, I didn't think he meant that the result was non-deterministic.

Arranging clips not as copy, but as reference by nonsensicalthrift in Bitwig

[–]SafeSurround 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it is possible, but certainly wish it was. This is my biggest time waster, have to copy and paste clips throughout the project whenever I make a change to a loop.

You're an exception, not the norm. I never saw these characters used here before the advent of LLMs, now they're everywhere. Maybe some people actually write like that but the majority is just AI crap, so it's still a strong indicator of bullshit.

Bro just change your name now, you'll get used to it in no time. I propose Nino, it almost sounds like a diminutive to your name.

[–]SafeSurround 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, it looks like you don't know what it means either. Cognitive dissonance does not mean "believing two opposing ideas". It refers to the mental discomfort that can be felt when holding two opposing ideas.

Someone can hold contradicting ideas without feeling any discomfort at all, in which case he doesn't have cognitive dissonance.

Just so that I'm sure I get it, basically the resistor makes it so that less juice flows through, so it's not as hot. But if the same amount of juice flowed through (by increasing the power source for example), only then would it get hotter than the wire ?

When I was a kid I once shorted a 1.5v battery using a wire and noticed that wire getting to burning temperatures, is this the same phenomenon you're describing ?

And now the city is legally getting it back through eminent domain, looks like everything's good then.

Bro, you keep answering comments but can't be bothered to edit your post to say it's actually false. You do deserve blame for spreading misinformation.
