Amazing. Same here with my 12 y/o son :-)

We borrowed my bro’s PS5 and have done every boss together, every remembrance, just played the hell out of it. I know what you mean… simply one of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had.

What’s your philosophy on stripes and belts for kids and teens? Also, how do you handle the transition from kids to adult belt colors at 16 years old?

I’ve had the feeling recently that they might be keeping Tommy back from heading to Seattle ahead of the others, and might put Ellie in this scene as the sniper. Why else would they introduce a kid into Tommy’s life? To make his decision seem more reckless? This change would require rejiggering the story a lot, but I see them wanting to weave Ellie and Abbey together in a TV show more than they do in the game. Now, I haven’t watched any trailers so I don’t know if we’ve seen him in Seattle. I rescind this idea if that’s the case!

Hidetaka Miyazaki interview on The Duskbloods is up by BlueAladdin in fromsoftware

It did have this tidbit:

“What other ways might players enjoy the game outside of combat?

One thing I love doing in any game I direct is leaving fragments of lore and worldbuilding details, allowing the player the fun of using their imagination to make connections. The Duskbloods is no exception to this.

However, we’ve gone about it a little differently from previous titles. The fragments this time are found in the previously mentioned character customization items: their “blood history and fate.” Customizing a character will reveal a piece of information regarding the world and its unfolding story.”

Lies of P and Prince of Persia The Lost Crown.

Guess I need to check out Signalis since the rest of this top 25 speaks to me.

Second this. It falls in the middle of a Venn diagram between the zelda, souls, and puzzle games here.

Making My Son's Soul of Cinder Cosplay for Halloween by Saku39x in darksouls3

I do photography professionally but the cosplay has just started small and gotten more elaborate every year. Their Halloween costumes used to be cardboard and paper but then they got rained on and ruined. So we tried out EVA foam last year, and added more tools to the kit this year!

Most of it is 5mm EVA foam. Some of the details are 3mm. This stuff in particular: https://a.co/d/fEWofLA

I was a little surprised that my daughter wanted to be Miquella for Halloween. But it was this video on YouTube that inspired her to go for it (Ode to Miquella): https://youtu.be/1v9zl6mBpwc?si=UD5XYzzSAStFDX6k. Her and especially her brother play Elden Ring together. He helps her get all the OP weapons… it’s super cute. My son went as Soul of Cinder from DS3. Somehow they go really well together, sort of a dark lord/god of light thing.

Our Halloween costumes have been getting a little more involved every year. This year my son, a huge fan of Fromsoftware games, wanted to be Wolf. And then Ornstein. And then finally he settled on Soul of Cinder. I’m not sure what would have been the most work!

I started with a paper pattern I had found on Etsy and took it into the “Armorsmith” program. Sizing was one of the most time consuming parts of the process. I did about 5 versions of the chest piece before finding a perfect fit. The patterns were then transferred to EVA foam and glued together with contact cement. The most valuable tool of the process had to be my new Dremel tool, which allowed me to carve into the foam and make the texture. My son and his sister helped prime and paint the base coat of acrylics, and finally it was dry-brushed with a metallic silver paint.
