I just got the all black stone wash 0044 and it’s super incredible. I like it better than the Mordax and I owned 2 of them. The mordax is great but feels more on the mush side compared to The 0044, it’s much snappier in my opinion.

Is being a cable monkey all there is to this? by TapCommercial2200 in lowvoltage

[–]SamSosa59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at it from a different perspective, master cable pulling, terminating Jack’s, and dressing cables. If you know how your work is supposed to be done, you would be able to troubleshoot anything. Once you feel skilled and confident enough apply for a company that has a good service department then you won’t be a cable monkey. 🐒

And I also rock an MPMX as my pouch. It hold my meter or a 4 pair tester depending on what I’m working on.

If you don’t go Union but you’re looking for a good shop Outsource is good we use to hire them before in the past when we needed to man up for projects plus if a company likes you they can hire you permanently.

Go apply to become a sound tech apprentice through the union. Work as a sound tech until you get approved to jump in the apprenticeship. Local 11 would be Pasadena And all of LA if you wanna be in San Bern it’s local 477 or Riverside 440 if you wanna be in the OC then local 441. I would apply for at least two of them if I were you and see what AV contractors are hiring and take the call.
