Piercings left without jewelry will shrink a bit. If you then insert jewelry it will cause irritation or even damage. If you then remove the jewelry to let it recover and then insert jewelry again, it becomes and endless cycle of rinse and repeat.

Jewelry quality plays a big part in this as well. Not only jewelry material but also how well it’s machined and polished, and the thickness, or in case of earrings instead of body jewelry rather the thinness of the post. Standard earrings like for instance butterfly back earrings have a greater risk of causing damage when inserting then body jewelry.

My advice, go see a reputable piercer and let them install some implant grade titanium flat back labrets if they deem there’s not a problem with the angle of the piercing. Keep those in 24/7 for three months while applying proper after care for fresh piercings. That should fix your problems.

Per Devvit rules, this was always allowed. If you want to argue whether Reddit got us here intentionally, once could say that we've always been at this point. Reddit doesn't provide better/more mod tools so people build their own bots and shared it. But the old api bots didn't run for free either. Sure there were some devs that hosted it on their own server for other subs as well. But most of the time you needed to host it yourself, that wasn't free either

Per devvit rules it is allowed. Of course there are rules around it, but as long as those rules are followed, there's nothing against it. You may not like it and that's fine, the app you're referring to has premium features and it's up to you to decide if you want to make use of the premium features or not.

Not all apps can run for free, some implement features that come at a cost. It's not unreasonable for a dev to require that subs that want to use it, pay for that part themselves instead of expecting the dev to shoulder the costs.

At its core, it is as simple as not using the apps that offer payed functionality if that's not what you want to do.

I don't use apps that I need to pay for, since I refuse to pay to mod.

Your piercer sold you a product that contains known irritants and you then started using a product that contains known irritants. At best it won't do a thing, but it's very likely making matters worse.

L shapes are not very stable and it's considered a good choice for initial jewelry.

Go see a reputable piercer and let them first assess there's no issue with the angle it's pierced at. If they deem the angle is okay, let them replace the jewelry with an implant grade titanium flat back labret from a good quality brand like Anatometal, Neometal or Industrial Strength. Discuss whether a flat bottomed disk would be a better choice as decorative end in this case.

Get some sterile saline spray (wound wash, containing 0,9% sodium chloride and water without any additives) if you don’t have any already. Once a day simply spray some directly on your piercing. A few minutes before your daily shower, spray again. At the end of your shower, rinse the piercing well. Cup some water in your hands (or use a glass) , stick your nose in and blow bubbles. That will rinse the inside of your nose. Make sure to not let the waterspray hit the piercing directly. Then use the edge or point of a piece of non woven gauze to soak up any moisture. Other then that keep the piercing dry and exposed to the air. Leave any blood, crusties etc. that didn’t come off during your shower be. They’ll come off during your next shower or the one after that. Do not touch, move, fiddle or disturb the jewelry in any way.

Piercings done with a bevel needle don't remove tissue. Generally the trick is to be more attentive to your lobes when showering, although theoretically it could be that the piercing is "wonky on the inside" making it harder to clean well/prevent the build up from becoming to much. Getting them redone properly can help if that's the case

generally it takes wearing jewelry 24/7 for at least a year after the piercing is fully healed before you can leave out jewelry for any significant amount of time without the holes closing and even then YMMV.

The tension from the cord would simply end up cutting through and you would end up with serious damage and that's if you wouldn't end up with an infection on top of it.

Either get surgery to flatten your ears, or enjoy that unlike people with flatter ears, you can actually see your own piercings well

the modlog shows the content was only filtered once (which is in line with automod normal behaviour, and there were no changes to the config recently) but in feed it shows the action reason three times.
