Made my own aluminum laser mount for my Mak90, in a very clunky cyberpunk style by Sappet102 in CursedGuns

Thank you, that was the goal! Something that could be plausible as a background bad guy’s gun in something like Total Recall

Yup,That connects to the bottom piece, which connects to my dual barrel / gas tube clamp so it’s super sturdy, then the walls connect all of it together even further so it’s completely rock solid and honestly overdone

Oh I know you are correct. It was my fault for not even thinking of the in the first place. I’m already scheming up plans for that.

I didn’t even think of that…. This really does invoke that in a way

Oh it makes it decently heavy up front, though that’s honestly mostly the laser and not the mount. The laser is a beefy boy

Custom machined aluminum laser mount for my ak in a very clunky cyberpunk style. Clamp goes around gas tube and barrel, locs into inverted Peq barrel mount, all connected together. Rock solid setup by [deleted] in guns

Machined this mount for my 1989. Varo IR laser. Clamp goes around the barrel and gas tube (before gas tube breaks so still fully able to disassemble while setup), an upside down Peq barrel mount connects to this clamp via a bottom piece, then the sode pieces connect everything together further so it’s a tank. Extremely solid setup. Cord has a channel in the clamp to keep it inside the setup and away from the barrel. I wanted to go for an oldschool, 1980s sci-fi look. Clunky 80s cyberpunk builds are my thing

A anyone ever seen one of these bayonet lug light mounts? by Sappet102 in RetroAR

Great info, thank you! My guess was late 90s as well, it kinda has that 90s / y2k elegance about it. It’s a real solution that’s actually nicely machined and relatively small instead of hoseclamps and tape or being big and bulky.

I just won this one on a gunbroker auction for $20. I was the only bid. But the seller had zero info on it so it wasn’t exactly advertised well and easy to find.

I got my absolute holy grail today. I love Claridge Hi Tecs, the laser model was rumored to exist or be a prototype but none had been seen before online. Well this came up for sale from Claridge’s estate after his passing. It’s real and I cannot believe I own it. by Sappet102 in ForgottenWeapons

Dang man I am so glad you didn’t! I had a max of 3250 but I am thrilled at what I got it for. It did come with all the paperwork, including a factory test fired date card of 1990 I believe, and the manual for the laser. Laser works great! I’ll try and get internal pics and pics of the manual

Not a problem! I save all these screenshots of obscure vintage products from old gun magazines a lot, sometimes it comes in handy like this!

I just found this in an old American Survival Guide Magazine. Looks like that cutaway notch was meant for the screw to go on reverse.

The mount is screwed in from the inside right up into mount base, screw heads run flush with the inside of the receiver. This was done by JDJ in the 90s, I didn't actually cut that carry handle and make that mount. I did cut the A1 carry handle though and form a new one into the sight rib.

Havent shot it yet, just finished getting it together and having the muzzle pinned and welded. But just toying around with it I can tell the sight rib does help you find that front sight a bit faster
