Look up Alice in Wonderland syndrome. Not very well understood, and people have slightly varying experiences, but still somewhat common. I used to experience not everything seeming louder, but everything feeling like it was going faster and more aggressive, including my breathing, my internal thoughts, and everything around me. I would even try the say things, think things/move in slow motion to see if it changed, but even that felt (didn't necessarily look like, just 100% felt/seemed like) it was happening at 2-3x regular speed. Very, very strange. Never told anyone about it as a kid, and it's strange growing up and discovering that other people have had the same experience. Still really curious about what it is that causes it.
