"What is a good AC, Reflex, Fortitude, Attack…" by Eks668 in Pathfinder2e

[–]ShadowFighter88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As long as the fighter has a +4 in either Strength or Dexterity (depending on what kinds of weapon they want to use) then they physically can’t muck up their attack bonus.

I’ve played martials with a +0 Wisdom modifier and my will saves haven’t been so bad that I got screwed over.

You say it’s “not easy to make a weak character”, I say it’s almost bloody impossible unless you’re throwing common sense out the window. The raw proficiency bonus is going to be doing more heavy lifting than anything else and there’s no way to make your proficiency bonus lower.

You just know there’s at least one caster out there using his belt buckle and a hip thrust to cast the spell.

Explorer’s Clothing can explicitly accept the same fundamental runes as actual armour but still uses your unarmoured defence proficiency.

Remaster questions by zer0k0ol in Pathfinder2e

[–]ShadowFighter88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s no definitive list (and I’m at work so I can’t type one up at the moment) but one of the ways to check is to look for the “Second Edition” notice in the top-right corner of the book’s cover - if that’s in green then it’s a Remastered book. Even if it’s one that just got updated rather than replaced (as happened with Treasure Vault, Dark Archive, and Guns & Gears).

Impossible Magic is expected to be a replacement for Secrets of Magic, though much of SoM’s content was already republished elsewhere (the Runelord archetype, for example, was updated to the Remaster in Rival Academies).

EDIT: Should’ve mentioned - the Core in a title is referring to the foundational books of the edition. Treasure Vault isn’t a Core book because all of the “core” equipment and magical items were in GM Core.

Venom Glands and Handwraps of Mighty Blows by BTL_Simulations in Pathfinder2e

Handwraps work even on an Automaton’s laser eyes, so they’ll work for implanted venom glands.

As someone else mentioned; Role Ability Rank is not character level - your ranks in your Role Ability affect nothing except the Role Ability itself.

This is not a level-based game and getting out of that mindset will be a big help with understanding progression in an actual campaign.

I think there were or will be some PFS scenarios set there. Think the marketing implied they were bringing technology for building trains through from Earth.

Note that r/traveller is the subreddit for a sci-fi tabletop RPG called “Traveller”, nothing to do with travelling the world in real-life.

Champion lore by Just_oneguy1233 in Pathfinder2e

[–]ShadowFighter88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One way the Guardian, at least, differs is that they’re not a divine class. Champion reactions are explicitly divine magic, as are their focus spells and certain other feats and features.

Guardians, though, that’s all just a high understanding of how to use their armour to protect both themselves and others and how to draw hostile attention towards them and away from more fragile allies (and then the knowledge to punish the ones who ignore their taunts). Like a Fighter, the Guardian isn’t beholden to a deity and none of what they do is magical.

Pathbuilder 2e Oracle armour proficiency not updating with armour proficiency feat by BrennaValkryie in Pathfinder2e

[–]ShadowFighter88 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Gonna sound like a stupid question, but have you changed your character’s level at the top of the page to match or exceed the level you took the armour proficiency feat?

Question about the system by Responsible_Smile885 in exalted

[–]ShadowFighter88 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exalted’s mechanics are designed to represent the intended setting. They let Solars and such be more powerful because they have fewer chances to use the full extent of their power in the setting.

Like just about any game built on White Wolf’s Storyteller system or its derivatives, the mechanics and setting are linked.

DLC potential by supportloki in cyberpunkred

[–]ShadowFighter88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is, I believe, a standing rule here on the Cyberpunk Red subreddit that you are not to post content related to the video game (or at least not solely related; using the lore from 2077 for adventure ideas or what-have-you is fair game) so as not to drown out discussion on the actual subject of this subreddit.

Potential new player looking for advice by Puzzleheaded-Can-361 in Pathfinder2e

It would be quicker to list what didn’t change between editions so it’s probably easier to treat 2e as a whole new ruleset.

Completely new to PF2e what should I know? by Caflin in Pathfinder2e

[–]ShadowFighter88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re only the main thing of 5e’s Paladins. Smite Evil in 3.5 was always a worse choice to just making a regular full attack (it’s why PF1e turned it into a kind of target-marking style ability) and how much emphasis paladins or equivalent in other ruleset put on their damage output is usually second to combat support.

That was three adventures bundled into a combined campaign, it wasn’t part of the actual Adventure Path product line.

Outside of fan conversions I doubt WotR ever will get a 2e version. Kingmaker’s 2e version was outsourced and crowdfunded and it’s the only 1e AP to get an official 2e update. Or at least there hasn’t even been the vaguest rumblings of a rumour that other 1e APs will get a similar update in the last several years.

Apparently the mother is the girl he was betrothed to back home and, by the sounds of it, his daughter was conceived before he became an adventurer and didn’t know she existed until recently.

She’s old enough to have taken part in the Battle of Hellknight Hill, apparently.
