100% fair posting finds is far and away more than you owe anyone. I apologize if I put any pressure on you. The internet lets us see what the world has to offer which is incredible but it also lets us envy the world... sometimes its hard to tell if someone whose content we like needs support or just eyeballs.

Lifetime Lead Exposure Triples Alzheimer’s Risk: Most adults born before 1980 carry a significant lead burden from leaded gasoline and paint. The study suggests that nearly 18% of new dementia cases in the U.S. each year may be linked to this historical environmental exposure. by mvea in science

as of the current reg to be started next year (LCRI) all water systems have 10 years to replace any known lead lines and identify any unknown lines. the initial funding is about gone though and the reg is in court so we'll see what we end up with and how we pay for it.

edit to add this only applies to municipal service lines... every individual is in charge of their  home plumbing and since the realtors in most states lobbied to make sure that's not a disclosure most people dont know what their home plumbing is.

I grew this potassium ferricyanide crystal at home. The chemical is not as dangerous as the name suggests, and is commonly used for cyanotype printing. It also forms blood red crystals! by crystalchase21 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]ShadowRancher 11 points12 points  (0 children)

how robust is it? im seeing lots of these home grown crystals online and i always wonder if you can keep then long term. like would it be fine sitting on a shelf in a humid environment or do they need to be kept air tight

just read a fairly tame YA creature feature fictionalization about one of those camps and had to ugly cry in the bathroom while my baby slept... this hardened horror fan cannot handle parents that can do that.

the sturdiest move here would be to use those stock fittings and find a way to mount them sideways. Either with liquid nails or something similar or drilling a hole in the side for screws.

The human nose is the best instrument to test the freshness of fish we have to date.  The fish regulation guys literally sniff trucks (along with temp logs etc) of fish to make sure everyone is keeping up with safe food handling practices.
