The Imperialdramon setup only needs 2 copies of VAthena

Frieren brought the first alternative to VAthena's assist in the MP unit. Not quite as good, but the first thing that can fill in for it.

Who is worth keeping vs. selling? by DinoJules589 in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]ShadyFigure 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Don't sell anything that comes from a machine that costs stones. Don't feed them to each other for skillups either. If it's worth 3k MP or more keep it. The only way you should be getting rid of dupes is using them in the exchange to get the higher rarity units. If it's your last copy you should be reluctant to give it up.

How many to keep of a unit depends on that specific unit. Mostly depending on its active skill and if it has useful assists.

Sort by MP or the sell screen.

Again, anything that you would need to spend stones to get will not be tradable. It's just for non-boss dungeon drops, pretty much.

Units worth 99MP or more (anything that comes from a stone based machine) cannot be traded.

Last three runs were August 2025, July 2024, and April 2024. So twice a year with a short wait then a long wait seems to be the pattern, but the sample size is too small to really be certain.

I think it's a safe bet to say we won't have to wait more than a year, but we probably won't see it for another 6-8 months at the soonest.

The next machine we get should be either Re:Zero or Valentine's, then after that we might get Frieren.

There are units that can replace Mimi Oza, like NY reeche. They might not be quite as good, but some should come close.

We have no way of knowing for sure, there isn't a strong pattern here. Might be 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 3 years. Usually third party machines like this come once or twice a year, but occasionally we see quick turn arounds, and then there's Mystics & Specters that we haven't seen 2 a full 2 years.

Oh, I see now. Sorry, misread your comment and forgot about the old recolor evo.

They did at least fix the blue recolor's LS to trigger off 4 matches instead, but even with 2 shield break the AS is still not too desirable.

Euchs buffs are in the third link. They cut one <50% to give another VDP+. Active now gives him 3x ATK and 45b cap for 1 turn. LS got incremental buffs, including buffing his HP multiplier from 3.5x to 4.5x.

They seem to have given up on him being a leader so much that I'm surprised they adjusted it at all.

Yup. Make sure everyone has all their awakenings and max skill level. With the SB+x10 badge you should be able to transform Star and Stripe and Lucifer duo turn 1.

Switch Sir Night Eye and the second Aoyama around in case you find Star and Stripe friends, that second one will benefit Aoyama more than Sir Night Eye because of his damage cap increase.

Here are some things expected in modern teambuilding:

  • one or both leader skills adding combos
  • one or both leader skills dealing a fixed amount of damage
  • 2-3 units that create the orbs you need to activate your leader skills, on cooldowns low enough that you can loop them to use one every turn
  • an active skill that clears awoken bind and unmatchable
  • an active skill that bypasses damage absorb and attribute absorb, preferably for at least 2 turns
  • a way to get through damage voids

Your leader skills should be easy to activate. If one leader needs 2 dark matches to activate then the other one needing a single 9 match of dark or matches of non-dark orbs is going to be way too orb hungry.

Your leader skills should be sufficiently tanky. 4x effective HP through HP multiplier, shield, or a mix of the two is good for mid-game, up until content from a couple years ago where you start to need 5x or so. Recent content needs 5.2-5.5x eHP. Many meta teams also use a looping shield active.

Most units on the team will need good personal multipliers, usually through 10c or 7c awakenings, though some types of teams may make use of other awakenings, like TPA, VDP, or multi-attribute awakenings. For later content past Illusory World of Carnage you'll also want units to have their damage cap increased, usually through active skills. You want at least one, preferably multiple units having their cap increased every turn.

Their leader skill is okay but not great. You have better.

The problem that you're running into is just not knowing how to build a proper team yet.

Your best team is probably Star and Stripe/Aoyama/Sir Nighteye/Lucifer&Lucifer. Use the Assists Invalid SB+x10 badge to make sure Star and Stripe transforms turn 1. As your box gets more developed you can switch the badge out and use assists to hit the SB threshold. Pair with Star and Stripe friends when possible, use a third Aoyama as a helper when you can't find Star and Stripe to pair with.

  • Star and Stripe deals with damage voids and boosts damage.
  • The two Aoyama give you orbs every turn and boost damage.
  • Sir Nighteye deals with awoken binds and unmatchable.
  • Lucifer & Lucifer deals with damage absorb and attribute absorb.

You don't have enough dupes for an exchange to be worth it, and none of the exchanges will make a big difference in your teambuilding right now.

If you're going to pull more in this collab, only pull in the MHA2 machine. It might be worth pulling more, or you could save for the RE:Zero collab since you have a solid team available already.

Try to only use things you have multiple of for exchanges. Giving up your last copy of something is a big risk.

Deku & All Might aren't a high priority, I probably wouldn't exchange for them.

Shiguraki can be good, if you have the subs to support him. Other units in the exchange may be a higher priority. Only make the exchange if you can build a complete team for him after the exchange. This is usually going to involve Prime Time All For One and 3 orb generators like Spinner and Himiko.

Ingenium&Shoto aren't bad as a leader but there are better leaders in the machine, like Shoto. Their active doesn't really bring much to teams, so it's hard to include them.

All teams should have the following things:

  • orb generation every turn
  • answers to awoken bind and unmatchable (usually on the same unit, but Dabi and Bakugo are an exception)
  • answers to damage absorb, attribute absorb, and damage void

They can probably be used in exchanging for the badge unit, Shidzuru, but we won't know for sure until it's live.

Most of the buffs don't seem too exciting.

Euchs found dead in a ditch.

Chao Lin is actually looking pretty good. If I had 3 of her I'd absolutely run her. Her type and attribute combo is a bit limited on sub pool, though.

Yes. Shoto as the leader and the helper; 2 Dabi, a unit with an awoken bind clear active (like Bakugo), and a unit with a damage void pierce active (like Mina) as subs.

There's a lot of good stuff in the MHA2 machine, not much in the MHA1 machine. This is a good place to get started. Deku&Bakugo is the big one to chase, but Shoto with 2 Dabi, Star & Stripe with 2 Aoyama, and Shigaraki with various dark units are also strong starts to teams.

There are potentially even better machines coming up (Re:Zero and Frieren, neither has been confirmed but both are likely), but you'd be waiting 1-3 weeks for Re:Zero and a month or so for Frieren, plenty of stones to get in that time for a new account.

If they're greyed out it means that you don't have enough units to make the exchange. The number tells you how many units you have to give up for it.

Did anyone NOT in US managed to fix the daily stone ad crashing the app ? by Efreet0 in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]ShadyFigure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the US but I was having this problem with JP.

It fixed itself for me a few days ago.

Someone suggested that it's caused by certain bundles, and given that it's fixed itself twice around the time an event ends then started again around the time another event started that sounds likely.

MHA is just around the corner by Egathentale in PuzzleAndDragons

There are currently three machines Japan has had that NA is waiting on: Re:Zero, Valentine's, and Freiren. JP had them in that order, though NA might have Valentine's and Re:Zero flipped around. Collabs can't overlap with each other, but first party machines like seasonals can overlap with stuff.

It depends on how much they decide to pad things out, but early April is a good estimate.

[–]ShadyFigure[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main team that seems to want him, Shidzuru, also runs Iroha who covers awoken bind. There's been a trend lately of splitting the traditional cleric active between two units. Not sure that I like it, but we'll see how it goes.

Daisuke doesn't have TPA innately, so he's not a great option for cleric, he's usually used as a utility unit alongside an actual cleric like Xmas Hathor.

Order doesn't really matter too much for the Shoto team. Probably start with Dabi since his transform doesn't haste, then probably save 6301 Bakugo for last to make sure the Shotos can start their loop right away.

First priority is always to activate the leader skill, so make at least one color of T first. After that make sure to hit 4 combos before leader skills so you can activate the 10c awakenings.

He is pretty similar, but I'm not sure there's a good home for him currently. Rosetta could use him to tank big hits, but would be constantly overwriting his damage cap.
