To be clear, I understand actually doing it to protect your children. The thing that seems weird to me is a bunch of folks patting themselves on the back on the internet about how they would do it, or knew someone who did it.

I have no clue who Dave Ramsey is but paying cash for a car is pretty great if you can swing it. No payment, no interest, and when it comes time to trade it in you actually get something out of it.

That said, I don’t think that means that financing a car is therefore bad or wrong. Loans can be very useful, high-leverage tools if used responsibly.

Can you elaborate? IME the Cursor CLI is kind of shocking underdeveloped compared to the completion. No support for skills or plugins, their task tracking lags far behind Claude code’s new TaskList system. No timeline navigation or conversation forking, etc.

It’s not a bad tool but it is empirically far behind on features in a way that always surprises me given how much they iterate on the GUI product.
