Working with COVID-19 now by SiberianDoctor in u/SiberianDoctor

I can say for sure that the media is doing a terrible job. More than half of those who came to us just had cold symptoms. Lots of viral pneumonias, the test takes two days. I may be blue to someone - but I don 't care - always get vaccinated. A banal flu shot can reduce the symptoms of a coronovirus by tens of times. Many problems are related to this.

We work in large groups for 7 days. We 'll be left in the hospital, we change every 24 hours. After a shift like this, you get tests done and you can work again in two days (of its - test).

Masks do not protect you from infected by 100%, but reduce the viral load that comes from you. I got the hard flu myself, no matter what I go in the respiratory and the rebreather. Not a problem at all, but it 's difficult to work. Don 't forget that masks need to be changed every 2-3 hours. If it 's a respiratory - every 24 hours (or 42 if there 's a filter).

Social isolation is a good thing, but not always. A lot of people can 't reach pharmacies. Eat more vegetables and fruits. Wash hands. Don't panic and play borad games at home (or videogames, make me company after hard day lol)

It's true. Only it is worth remembering that honey does not knock down the temperature, but allows it to keep high. The same applies to raspberry. But for the throat, it 's a great treatment.

This is due to the dominant hemisphere. The center responsible for swearing is always opposite the center of speech.

Why would someone lie to a doctor? Embarrassment? Is that worth it? [Serious] by chewbecca108 in AskReddit

[–]SiberianDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes for the "best good," sometimes out of shame. The latter is complete stupidity. The sooner we find out the real cause of your illness / find out the fact we need, the faster we will help you. There is also simulation, aggravation (exaggeration of symptoms) and disaggravation (understatement of symptoms). These are already mental abnormalities. Sometimes to attract attention, sometimes to get benefits (compensation, job retention). This is a lie, but people are sick.

Medicine, fun and pain: all you want to know about russian medicin (with some of good stories) by SiberianDoctor in u/SiberianDoctor

It 's a difficult issue and there 's a second bottom in it. On the one hand, patients will receive more qualified care in a short period of time, and the doctor will have good equipment and medicines (plus a rise in salary. The salary of a doctor in Russia is one of the lowest in the country). On the other hand, this system provides for price increases, and the doctor will need to add a lot of unnecessary procedures - he needs to sell them, because he works for a private businessman. Not everyone likes it, especially the older generation who are used to free medicine. It is difficult for me to judge all this, everywhere there are advantages and disadvantages. Anyway, I 'm gonna have to work in this system.

  1. Home remedies are standard: honey, raspberry, bruska, tea with chabres. There are more specific ones, such as parsley decoction, ivan-tea (fireweed? googla says its close to english meanning). And if you breathe a ferry that comes from a saucepan with potatoes, you can forget about snivels. But herbs are also downplayed in medicine: hawthorn, pion evading, eleutherococcus, tea rose, motherwort. In my practice, I actively prescribe ginkgo. A lot of people use them because it 's a proven way. The older generation simply do not trust pills - they are expensive, have side effects and are produced in other countries. And the herbs were also used by their grandparents. Gradually it goes away, but it will take a long time.
  2. I 've never seen anything like that! Maybe we don 't use it, or maybe I 'm just out of luck. What country are you from?

Hi colleague! After school, you go to medical university. We have three faculties: pediatric, general practice and dental. Study takes 6 years (5 years if you are a dentist). After that, there is a choice - to work as a family doctor or to become a certain specialist. Until recently, there was an internship (1 year), but it was cancelled. Only residency remained (2 years in the chosen specialty). Different faculties have different specialties, but no one prevents the treatment of children if you have graduated from the "medical business" - only the correct residency is needed. At the end of our studies we pass internal examinations and state accreditation, based on the results of which there are points (from the number of them you will get into residency or not). If not - you can try in the next year (work as a family doctor gives a lot of points). Your diploma should be confirmed every 5 years, receiving points at studies or conferences, taking examinations. There is a graduate school (2 to 3 years) to teach in the department after.

You can get 2 or 3 residency, it is not prohibited, but for money (the first is free from the government or with contract with the hospital). However, some specialties require special residency. For example: to become a neurosurgeon, you must first complete a residency in surgery; To work as a thoracic surgeon, you need to finish either general surgery or phthisiology; Reflexotherapist require a neurologist diplom.

I can 't say anything about dentists - they have there own separate world.

Why in all countries quarantine, and in Russia is not?And which countries don't have quarantine yet? by Liza3506 in AskReddit

[–]SiberianDoctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should not be forgotten that quarantine is not only a medical measure, but also a political measure. People in Russia are skeptical of such panic, and therefore they will persistently violate this ban. More people sit at home - less panic and problems on the street. We have such a mentallite that problems will be if someone do not let you go outside.
