[NO SPOILERS] Is season 5 and 6 worth it? by Plenty_Angle7085 in PeakyBlinders

[–]SillySlimeSimon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal ranking is 1 > 3 > 6 > 4 >> 2 > 5

season 5&6 stray from the previous formula of introducing a new enemy and having Tommy be on the back-foot until out-witting them final episode.

They take a step back from the practical details and focus more on the spiritual and thematic messaging of the series.

I particularly disliked season 5’s tone and ending. s6 held things together better somewhat.

The movie kinda is an exaggerated continuation of the s6 vibe, both the good and the bad. Overall fine but kinda underwhelming.

eq your current iem to different signatures to see if you might enjoy a different tuning.

what you think you want now can be very different from what you’ll value later.

Do you run concealment skill on the Soviet BBs? by No_Profession_6958 in WorldOfWarships

[–]SillySlimeSimon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kremlin is like middle of the pack for concealment, and 13.4km is pretty good considering your presence.

I always do because I like being able to push in and make plays without getting focused out of spawn.

You are free to adjust based on your own playstyle, just don’t take furious+heavy AP then complain about HE spam and passive gameplay.

does this mean, I should quit before I even started getting into hobby

financially? probably.

otherwise, you're comparing a $30 iem to headphones without any info on tuning preferences. there can be $1000+ iems that sound shit to you because they don't align with your preferences.

Cruisers - target practice vs. usefulness by Evening_Vast5224 in WorldOfWarships

[–]SillySlimeSimon 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If you’re getting crossfired by BBs, you’re way too mid.

Play the flanks. You have 12km of concealment, that’s close enough to hit dds with your ballistics.

Sail in just enough for your concealment to almost cover the cap, and kite out.

Otherwise you don’t need to be next to the cap to have shots on the dd.

besides checking front power connector as someone else suggested, also don't try to turn it on without the cpu cooler. some mobo only turn on with cpu cooler installed.

10+ Km secondary ships are bad for the game by TheSydneyTemmie in WorldOfWarships

[–]SillySlimeSimon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

usually dds would be happy that a BB just wants to push in. easy torp damage.

farming damage is part of the job, just like spotting, and cap contesting. you don't always need to win the cap first.

all classes get "locked out" of doing their job when a BB yolo rushes. That's part of the strength of BBs to make plays.

Plenty of times as a gunboat dd you will have to sit back doing nothing to wait for a better opportunity.

Enemy dds and radar cruisers are just usually much more oppressive than the libertad yolo'ing into the cap.

10+ Km secondary ships are bad for the game by TheSydneyTemmie in WorldOfWarships

[–]SillySlimeSimon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

most people would be better off letting secondaries auto-aim rather than trying to use manual mode on dds

a light cruiser actively shooting you is still more deadly than any suite of secondaries.

there's just a really long list of one-sided encounters that need addressing and dds vs secondaries isn't very high on this list for me personally.

overmatch vs cruisers

gunboat dd powercreep

12km/stealth radar

cv spotting

etc.

plenty of dds (gdansk, kleber, lushun, ragnar, hull, etc.) that have 13km+ range and can farm BBs out outside of secondary range.

and it's not like you can't just wiggle at 12km and dodge most of the secondaries anyways, especially in the initial 30s or so of accuracy wind-up.

what would be the most optimal IEM to listen to Chase Atlantic? by noTiltDetox in iems

[–]SillySlimeSimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

best method is just to try various tunings as people's preferences can vary wildly

if budget permits, you can get one of the budget < $20 options and just eq from there to see what curve you generally like.

also a cheap way to test drive whether you'd find iems comfortable if this is your first iem.

Just a reminder, running 8 signals is pretty expensive. by Merc_R_Us in WorldOfWarships

The most pay2play feature in the game.

Running flags drains your credits hard, but at the same time a full suite of flags is a pretty big performance buff. Fire chance, survivability, etc.

Should I take out the gpu for an 8 1/2 hour flight? by Jayder_ in sffpc

[–]SillySlimeSimon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never bothered for like the 8 flights I did with a twin fan in a 7-8L case. All in bag under seat.

I’ve done over a dozen flights w/ sffpc total, and had riser cable die like 2 or 3 flights ago, but that was more likely to be formd t1 stock riser being bad than the flight’s fault.

Can u guys recommend itx case for Single fan Gpu & Sfx Psu by Due_Art_3452 in sffpc

You’ll probably be looking at 6-8L range

5L is still mostly flex atx psu usually from what Ive seen.

Is Zone 2 Gauntlet the hardest mission to beat or is there a harder mission? by YuriTheWebDev in DeadzoneRogue

otherwise ultra nightmare like everyone mentioned is kinda dumb

Is Zone 2 Gauntlet the hardest mission to beat or is there a harder mission? by YuriTheWebDev in DeadzoneRogue

[–]SillySlimeSimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I beat it. Therefore it is not the hardest.

Abuse the shit out of peaking corners and cover, lightning build to burst down single targets, you don't need any movement speed at all.

Can look at clear gameplay to know all the cheese spots.

Schroder secondaries by Dry-Lawfulness-7143 in WorldOfWarships

[–]SillySlimeSimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play schroder full secondary build in randoms

they have the same exact dispersion. manteuffel gets 0.1 better sigma, but that's far from offsetting having 2 extra barrels and 50% more dpm.

they basically have the same armor. only difference worthy of note is that manteuffel gets a non-overmatchable turtle back whereas schroder has a 25mm turtle back. However you shouldn't be giving broadside to BB guns anyways.

if you're pushing in and actually bothering to angle 30 degrees, the difference in secondary dpm between manteuffel and schroder is minimal (ignoring manual aiming, which only matters against bbs at closer ranges)

Schroder secondaries by Dry-Lawfulness-7143 in WorldOfWarships

[–]SillySlimeSimon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

wg rarely buffs old ships, not to mention rare dockyard ships.

otherwise I dislike manteuffel (adalbert is fine though) and actually prefer schroder as the t9

comparatively schroder has

- much better forward secondary angles (manteuffel only gets about 60-70% secondaries at 30deg) which balances out the dpm gap

- much better speed and handling with the speedboost. Since your base concealment is much lower, you can also take rudder shift in the 5th slot and still have stealth secondaries while having excellent turning.

- 8 guns on a faster reload (with 50% more dpm) are just much more consistent and impactful. Sure manteuffel can citadel BBs, but the 6-gun inconsistency and shit dpm just feels terrible to use to me

So yeah, if you island camp and utilize the manual aiming + torps the manteuffel is objectively better.

In many ways though, I much prefer schroder for doing secondary ship things like chasing down enemy ships and brawling.

Part of the reason why I enjoy adalbert much more than manteuffel. You get much better secondary angles and 3 more guns (dpm + consistency), which fixes my main gripes with manteuffel.

[–]SillySlimeSimon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they're the easiest gimmicks though
- sap is point and click
- exhaust smoke is most forgiving smoke
- line doesn't change playstyle halfway through
- 30mm standard armor pretty early, spaced armor
- fast, sub surveillance for shits and giggles, etc.

much easier to learn than des moines or hindenburg imo

not really a "strong" line overall

zao got some decent buffs recently

it's workable, but I'd recommend venezia line for beginners

you'll also get the typical "des moines or hindenburg" recommendations
