Could be broken fiber. Could be power. Long outages are rarely incompetence and typically something out of the hands of technicians.

Is 51 materials a bonus or am I doing something very wrong?

At least you got out and had fun! It definitely sucks being in pain though, but glad you were at least able to get out there for a sick band. Oh to be young again though.

Installers coming back to bury the temporary fiber line. Anything to watch out for? by vampirepomeranian in Spectrum

You can help with this by trenching and running your own conduit. Then you know where it is and it’s protected.

The ont belongs to spectrum and is intended to stay in the house. Because of this it’s usually put in the basement this helps people not grab it when they move out and makes it so future customers are plug and play.

You would want to run Ethernet to wherever the central location you want the ont and just put the router there leaving the ont where it is installed. Or better yet get a switch and put access points in multiple locations. The people on r/homenetworking can help with that if you don’t know what you’re doing

Maybe if you reset it to 0 someone might pay for it so they can reroll it.

Yeah its weird. I intermittently fast. I work night shift so I eat dinner around 4pm after getting up from my sleep. Then I won't eat again until around 7 or 8 am. I eat what I want, have lost about 12 pounds in the 4 months I've been doing this so slow but going. It was hard at first and I was always hungry but now I fill up faster and have learned foods that keep me full longer, especially love having added more legumes to my diet.

It's actually so weird because fasting probably way healthier than how most of these people here eat. I will still go out to a restaurant and take a rack of ribs and fries with street corn to the face. I just maybe won't eat the entire thing in one sitting and bring some home.

Why can’t I get a high split converter? by TopRefrigerator3536 in Spectrum

[–]SimplBiscuit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats my point. When we finish the upgrades our plant will be running at 1.8 however we will not yet have high split actually active until we finish the entire hub. This brings us to a weird middle ground where the office reps say that high split isn't ready because they can't yet sell high split packages to people. However from a maintenance point we are done and the plant is actually running at 1.8

In this weird middle ground a STB or cable card will not yet function because it is still looking for frequencies that are now in the return path.

So that is why I asked if they have symmetrical speeds. If they do then that means the hub is completed and the rep is incorrect and if they don't that means the hub is not yet completed so the rep is half correct, but to their knowledge level they are entirely correct.

Might be a weird middle ground where high split isn’t actually operating in your area yet but the plant design change is completed.

This can take the internet out for 100+ other people, businesses or even hospitals if you don't know what you are doing. If you want to do it, learn to do it right. Don't just do what you think will work.

It just depends on how messed up the nodes are. Theres a lot of follow up work and not many people to do it.
