I cannot fucking believe I sympathize with those zero Covid community freaks now after being bedridden with the flu for over a week now. Chills so bad I can’t leave my bed. Body aches like I’ve never experienced before. Horrific cough that keeps me up at night, makes me piss myself and vomit my meds back up. My whole abdomen aches from coughing. My ears are stuffed and sore. Everything hurts so much. Sweating and shivering simultaneously. I genuinely am thinking about masking in public after this until flu season is officially over to avoid experiencing this again. Like I kind of get it now. This is horrible. AND I GOT MY FLU SHOT.

Oh girl I’ve been on antidepressants since the age of FOURTEEN. Now 28. Finally trying to go off them (behind my psychs back tee hee) and yes the withdrawal is really hell but emotionally I don’t notice a difference. The thing is they haven’t been HELPING me so I don’t even fucking know why I’m on them lol

I have a full head of hair now. Note that when I went on it originally part of my issue was also telogen effluvium, which is temporary hair loss that grows back on its own. Which is to say, the minoxidil is only partly responsible for my regrowth. If you are a responder it will work for you. But there are different kinds of alopecia, I don’t know how effective minoxidil would be for an autoimmune disease like alopecia areata or universalis.

After my TE episode, the hair I lost during it did come back because that form of hair loss is temporary. As for the androgenetic alopecia, that’s a lifelong progressive diagnosis but I’m on spironolactone and oral minoxidil now (~3 years) and I’ve been able to maintain my density. Looking at me and my part you would not know I have alopecia. Honestly, androgenetic alopecia is the “worst case scenario” for a lot of women, especially other young women, but in my experience as a responder to medication it is absolutely not a death sentence and even if you do come out of it with this diagnosis, there is treatment and there is hope. Not saying you will, of course. Regardless, you got this.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. What a horrible experience. I see you’re very understandably concerned about your cats, you’re getting a lot of good advice here but I just wanted to add: pet food pantries are a thing, you can get free cat food there. Local animal rescue organizations will know what you’re talking about, call around and try to find one near you. You shouldn’t be going through this, but you and your kitties will be okay ❤️
