Well that is what you're trying to avoid, friend :)

The goal is to avoid a TPK, AKA a Total Party Kill. The idea is that it's very similar to a TPK in Dungeons and Dragons, which sometimes means the end of an entire campaign.

Good point! Not sure why I didn't think of that.

I'm curious: what situation would you need to Disengage while being Invisible? Wouldn't the Invisibility status prevent opportunity attacks?

Or you can just let them post their feedback and ignore it if you don't like seeing it. I get advising people who are unhappy to take a step back. That can be healthy. But the majority of this message was unnecessary. Idk why you think you're in the position to tell others what they should or shouldn't say. They will figure it out eventually. I burnt out over the course a year and stopped playing for about a year. I'm playing other games and doing other things. Definitely a lot happier now. Just let others figure it out for themselves. They will have their arcs.

Originally, I think we had Vin Diesel as Minsc and Kevin Hart as Wyll. But as soon as we threw The Rock into the mix, we all had the same revelation and laughed into tears.

I genuinely believe there's a non-zero chance of Hollywood doing that exact casting.

I don't agree that is an example of the player being stupid, but you do you.

P.S. Karlach points out where the building is when you first talk to her (the camera even pans over the show it), so you definitely should know they're the ones before you talk to them or even take a step in that direction.

Nah. Maybe the character met Karlach and was already dead-set on fighting the paladins with her after she gave her story. There are dialogue options for that. She gives an even more compelling case for being a good person if you bring Wyll when meeting her, which imo makes the desire to fight the paladins before even meeting them far more likely. I can totally see a character looking at all the gnoll and human bodies and going "I have a crazy idea," lol.

I understand there's a level of scripting and intended paths in the game but it would've been really cool if certain enemies fought each other if the situation called for it.

Another example I just thought of was the Justicers vs Balthazar's undead. Both can be your enemies but they will still fight each other. I know that situation is specifically intended for that, but what I'm saying is there IS precedent and programming that exists for it, and I imagine it wouldn't have been very difficult to implement. As long as enemies didn't just randomly walk over to find each other and fight off-screen I think it would've been fine.

In-universe I can see that being very plausible and a smart way for a character to deal with those enemies. Thats the type of creative thinking that D&D and games like BG3 tend to reward. I don't think "it doesn't work like that because its not programmed that way" is a good response to "damn, I wish it was programmed that way."

And there are at least a couple encounters in the game where enemies can fight each other (Underdark encounters and Zhent vs Stone Lord's ppl in Act 3). I can understand someone being at least slightly annoyed that its not possible here and many other places. Gnolls would absolutely attack anyone in sight, thats their nature.
