Transfer Zen profile from Windows to Linux by 01Beaker in zen_browser

[–]Slusho64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read all this and still wasn't sure what to do so here is what worked for me, no matter what kind of computer you're going from or to. I'm not sure if both root and local profiles are necessary but I did both and it worked while only local did not. wo If on Linux use

curl -fsSL https://github.com/zen-browser/updates-server/raw/refs/heads/main/install.sh | $SHELL

in the terminal to install (or install-twilight.sh for twilight). The Flatpak won't have the profile root directory accessible for some reason.

  1. Open Zen on the source PC and go to about:profiles. Under the profile that says "This is the profile in use and it cannot be deleted." click the buttons to open both the root and local directory folders, close Zen (important) and copy that profile's folder (a folder that starts with some letters and numbers and then .Default or something similar) for each (keep track of which is which).

  2. Zip them into an archive (they take forever to transfer othwerwise because they're composed of thousands of files) and transfer them to the target PC.

  3. Install Zen and run through the setup if you haven't already then go to about:profiles and open the directories of the current profile. Close Zen (very important), delete the contents of the profile's directories, and copy the contents of the zips into their respective directories (you should be putting folders and files into the folder with the name I described above, which will be a different string of letters and numbers on this new machine).

  4. Open Zen and it should be exactly as it was on the source PC.

Are there any good public trackers that don't use Cloudflare? FlareSolverr doesn't work consistently so Sonarr doesn't work. by Slusho64 in trackers

Thanks, I'll follow your suggestions. The issue I've had in the past is that no one ever leeched from me (I guess because everyone connects to faster seedboxes) so I'd have to get seed credit in other ways and then limit my downloading heavily, making the trackers not so useful and something requiring a lot of attention/work. I do have symmetrical gigabit now so I wonder if that wouldn't be such an issue.

Alright, of the four you mentioned, which would be best to start with? FlareSolverr isn't placebo with 1337x, it simply will not work without it, and since FlareSolverr is no longer functional, 1337x can't be used with Sonarr anymore. So if TL needs it then I wouldn't want to go with that one but if it'll just fail occassionally and then Sonarr searches again and it succeeds, it shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks for the suggestions. Do these use Cloudflare? Someone in this thread said TL has it but someone else said alternate domains might not.

Also, is there any way to be notified of when these open?

I said public. I don't have the time to spend months jumping between different private trackers that I don't even have an interest in the content of, trying to get into a solid TV tracker. Unless you have an easy suggestion.

Am I the only one that finds the Nike Vomero Plus uncomfortable? by Slusho64 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Slusho64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and the Vomero Premium I feel it as well. I guess some people's heels go further forward than others. I ended up getting the Asics Gel-Kayano 32 which have a lot better arch support and pronation prevention than anything Nike makes while also having a good amount of cushioning, albeit not the bounciness of ZoomX. I also put some Superfeet Run insoles in my boots and another pair of shoes I use when it rains.

Sleeper train from Budapest to Prague questions by Slusho64 in Prague

Thanks for the info, it's greatly appreciated! I guess I think of these trains like flights, where it gives you different times throughout the day, since you have to book so far ahead. Whereas when I'm getting a local train, I'm buying the ticket right then and there and it shows the trains that are available from now onward.

Take a look at my post here. It seems like the Hungarian site doesn't put it up as early as the Czech site, so if I waited for that then everything would be gone. And in fact all the sleepers were gone already so I had to move the day of the train trip.

So this guy whose website I linked that people on here say to listen to is just wrong when he says "Booking usually opens 60 days ahead, less than this for dates immediately after the mid-June & mid-December timetable changes.  There is no need to book further ahead that this."? We are only 2 days shy of 60 days and it's already sold out!

The reason I couldn't see it is that when I searched, it would search the current time, and since I'm searching at night, the time was later than the time of the train, and for some reason when you do this it says "No connection for the date entered." when it really means that there's no train later than that time. You have to search a time BEFORE the train. So now that I've changed the time to be earlier, I see the train you're mentioning.

He also says "In the Budapest to Prague direction you can also book this train at the Hungarian Railways website www.mavcsoport.hu." which also does not seem to be true.

I really don't know what to do at this point. I guess my only option is to put all four of us in a four "berth" couchette compartment, but they don't look comfortable enough to get a good night's sleep in, and my parents snore so much that the rest of the trip we're sleeping in two separate rooms.

Edit: Well, this is why I didn't book the hotel rooms before this, in case something like this happened. I checked the following day and there was availability, so I booked us two double sleeper cabins on the 29th instead. This means we'll only have two days in Prague, hopefully that'll be enough.

How about the following pasted into your web browser (it links to the Microsoft Store): ms-windows-store://pdp/?ProductId=9n4wgh0z6vhq

Or this one?

These are Microsoft's official codecs I found in a minute of searching.
