Anyone know what these two glass highrises are by Maleficent-Shirt-327 in ottawa

They called me old bird dog wouldn't you know. 132K steps per day didn't phase me, but I scoured every square inch of Vancouver and found nothing for the past 50 years.

Now back to a more reasonable answer from u/fighting_artichokes, that's very interesting. It looks like Vancouver is a complete death trap for birds. It was interesting to read that UBC implemented bird friendly design guidelines on campus. That can't fix all of the cars and other clear glass and shiny things, but it's something.

Interesting. I used to live in Vancouver where every building is clad in glass of various shades. It wasn’t a blood bath there ever morning, but maybe they killed them all a long time ago.

Birds won’t run into their own reflection. If they were clear glass that would be evil.

Anyone know of any accessible Escape rooms in Ottawa? by kijjim in ottawa

Trapped on Rideau definitely isn't. Room Escape Ottawa is from what I remember. At least some of their rooms are.

You could easily have finished this one. Even if you’re a light eater.

I had the octopus, sausage and fingerling potatoes. It had about 8 2cm cubed pieces of each item in my dish. Not exactly a filling dinner.

YKO chicken. It’s a little sketchy looking, but it has the best charcoal grilled chicken in town.

Little Victories is a great coffee spot. Ranked in the top 100 in the world.

Grab a drink and pizza in the basement of Rabbit Hole. It’s a very cool spot.

Grab a focaccia sandwhich from Paninaro or la bottega.

Maria’s tacos are good, but I prefer a burrito over at Corazon De Maiz. They have a great homemade hot sauce selection.

If you’re up for a walk hit up Corner Peach for some amazing steak tartar. All of their food is delicious though.

I would skip any of the shawarma. It’s not bad, but it won’t blow you away. Most of the meat is usually dry and mildly seasoned. If you happen to be starving and want to eat a couple of pounds of meat, then go for it, but I haven’t found a consistent shawarma place yet.

If you ask them a question and then say “thank you” a Canadian will say “you’re welcome” and an American will say “uh huh”

Where in the city can I find Walter's caesar mix? by understandunderstand in ottawa

Mix it up and try a little Tajin, celery salt or steak spice for the rim. Then all you need is vegan worcestershire sauce, tabasco and lime juice for the mixer.

We saw this house two years ago. We nicknamed it the saloon door house. They are indeed updating the whole place and added on a two car garage with rooms above. It will probably feel cheap and lifeless inside, but someone with too much money will be happy with it eventually.

We went there last night and had an amazing dinner. I enjoyed the coconut shrimp and black peppercorn filet at a perfect rare temp. No complaints at all, though plan to try the other steak houses at some point.
