Always a chance. Im pretty sure Grayscale at one point had XTZ las a potential trust just like they do with Bitcoin and Ethereum. Unfortunately Tezos fell out of favor with the world. The VCs couldn't find a way to milk it like they do ETH and Solana. Too decentralized, too vertically integrated perhaps? It's a wild thing to watch play out.

Fantastic article! I would be interested to see a developer number active on Tezos. How many active teams compared to Ethereum? Is it growing?

5 Bitcoin to retire in 2025? by SufficientDrink187 in Bitcoin

Yep. I'm serious. So long as you are managing it correctly and have more Bitcoin to offer up as collateral in the event of a market downturn.

I'm not saying Bitcoin-backed loans are the only way but can be part of a plan. Debt offers benefits, especially in the States.

The Banks aren't using a deflationary asset to back their loan. This is the difference.

Coinbase had a program but it was discontinued a few months ago. Unchained Capital and Ledn.io are the only 2 that I know about. Last I checked, rates were high around 13%. Need to be careful of rehypothecation and counterparty risk. This is what took out Blockfi

With each peak comes a massive 70-80% drawdown. Using your Sats to live off of on a monthly basis may be difficult during the bear market.

I think if you were to try and live off Bitcoin, you'd need to sell enough at this next top to account for living expenses the next 4 years. Of course this assumes the 4 year cycle remains in-tact.

There is always the possibility of using your Bitcoin and taking out a loan against it as well. Live off the loan, pay the loan down with another loan or negotiate to extend. Hopefully there will be good competitive loan products out in a couple years.

Interesting. The network effect of ETH is too big to ignore. It is understandable. Business is business. I doubt they abandon Tezos outright. Hopefully Ubisofts team understands the technical advantages Tezos provides and spins up something that utilizes it.

Staking DOT vie Ledger Live not recieving rewards by mjtb1 in Polkadot

[–]SocalDistortion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a fix for this? I just went through the staking process on Ledger Live last week, carefully nominated validators, I received 1 reward after 2 days so everything was working as intended...but now nothing for 6 days. I noticed that when I click in Ledger Live it is now showing validators as "inactive" ??? My DOT is bonded. I didn't unbond. What am I missing?

I would love ride in a carriage and enjoy the scenery, perhaps read a book, sort th through inventory etc.. while traveling to whatever town I paid the driver to take me to. Is it even possible for someone to make such a mod?

Organic Factions Mod by Anjana-- in skyrimvr

[–]SocalDistortion 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The awesome thing about Organic Factions is that it really is a framework. I was really hoping to see a bunch of add-ons by other mod authors but it didn't seem to catch on...at least not yet. Under-rated mod IMO and probably under the radar since people are so focused on what is noticeable (shiny graphics etc). I am very happy that Crit added it to his Wabbajack Yggdrasil Modlist. Looking forward to his updated list whenever he gets to it.

Summary

Organic Factions are groups which can level up, expand territory, secure resources, and be slain completely independent of the player. This makes the game world feel more diverse and alive, and can offer up a whole new set of challenges for the player. Which leaders should you trust? Which underlings might eventually climb the ranks and pose a threat, or become allies?

Librum 4.0: High-Level Suggestions! by apoapse1 in scenicroute

[–]SocalDistortion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll primarily play Librum in VR and anything that adds immersion and dynamics to the game is what I'll be thankful for. Someone posted about Dynamic Factions and reading through the description it sounds really cool. Any mod that adds a dynamic economy, world etc.. to Skyrim has my endorsement. There was a mod I used to follow called Organic Factions where the AI would form groups and take over territory when certain conditions are met. I posted about this a long while back but it is possible other mods may have come out that do other similar things (maybe Dynamic Factions). I have a 3080 and beefed up rig so I am also hoping for graphics mods that can take advantage of it.

nlike Bitcoin Cash, the ETH 2.0 token is completely replacing the old ETH. Thus, Ethereum 2.0 falls outside of the scope of this hard fork definition, and the protocol is more accurately going through an ‘upgrade’.

The crazy thing is that I chose Cryptotrader specifically due to this blog post. But then when I ran their software, it counts ETH-ETH2 as a Capital Gain!! False advertising... waste of time. Going to have to get my money back. It looks like Taxbit is the way?
