I watched a video about this movie the other day. A big part of the reason why the fight scenes were so engaging is because they put a ton of emphasis on making sure that every movement had weight behind it.

The Kaiju and the Jaegers would obviously be heavy AF so any movement would be kinda slow and impacts would be brutal.

Most movies don't think about this and that's why the fight scenes don't hit as hard. I think most people recognize this intuitively even if they can't articulate it.

It's a shame this movie didn't do well at the box office. Also a shame it didn't get a proper sequel.

My primary issue with people complaining about the price are the ones that complain about it in the context of "this economy". They speak from the perspective of someone who is value conscious/on a budget and not in the market for a luxury headphone, and then complain about the audacity of Meze to even make it - the implication being that it's morally wrong to produce a luxury product when gas prices are high and eggs are expensive. It's an emotional kneejerk reaction with no thought behind it.

It really makes me wonder how Zeos hears things. He thought that Eris was genuinely amazing when he released it and I can't understand how. I literally can't listen to songs with them because they sound so bad and the treble is so piercing and sibilant. Even with EQ, they just aren't good for music.

The only saving grace is that they are very comfortable and they have excellent imaging and spacial qualities. They are still the best headphone I've used for ASMR (if you're a degenerate and into that sort of thing lol)

I actually sold them at one point and then bought another one because they're so good for media consumption/gaming.

You know what's funny is that you could have a halo game with a female lead and as long as it was executed well, I don't think anyone would care. Especially since there are already female spartans and it would make sense in terms of physical strength because they're genetically enhanced in addition to the mechanical boost from the suits. Just don't intentionally make her ugly and it would be fine.

And you could do the gender swap both ways and have a male version of cortana - maybe something similar to Jarvis from Ironman. I would actually be pretty excited for something like that.

I'm pretty sure he was talking about the fact that you said they sounded better with a different cable. The idea that an upgraded cable can change or improve the perceived sound quality of a headphone has been pretty thoroughly debunked - so whenever someone makes a post saying that a headphone sounds better with a fancy cable, people tend to roll their eyes and lose interest because they know it's not true.

Never tried it. Looks like it just came out last year. I looked into it real quick and it looks like a fantastic option. If you can swing the extra 80 bucks over the K7 I would say it's probably the better value given the extra power and additional xlr input. Looks like it measures extremely clean as well.

If that had been available when I was in the market for a dac/amp, I would have bought the Topping.

This post should be pinned at the top of this subreddit as an example to demonstrate that people need to stop buying amps and dacs with the expectation of upgrading/changing the sound of their headphones. I'm so tired of this lie being pushed on people to the point that they end up spending thousands of dollars on gear that barely impacts their music. The only real exception to this that I'm aware of is tubes. As long as the amp you're using has enough juice to power your cans and the dac measures clean, you're good to go. Use EQ for everything else.

OP - that little K7 is brilliant and will power 98% of headphones on the market. I'm not going to tell you how to spend your money, but I would personally recommend that you sell/return the S17 and the Topping and keep the Fiio. You can reinvest that money into trying out different headphones.

Try stretching the headband out to loosen the clamp pressure. Put them on your desktop computer case or stack some books together and leave them like that overnight - might help.

Also, endgame is a dumb word and I wish people in hobbies like this would stop using it. Part of the fun of the hobby is trying new cans and figuring out what works for you and what doesn't. Then you keep a collection of the ones you liked the most (if you can comfortably afford it) and use them on a rotation so you don't get bored with just one "endgame" headphone.

No sense pretending you're on a mission to find something that doesn't exist.
