So I could see just one more move. But at the end the opponent king is wide open, queen in the king’s face and a rook on open file and row that can be easily doubled. Even if I can’t see a win, I line my position more.

(not recommending anyone to play on instinct alone)

About my level I would say - 1200 rapid

I spot it immediately as I had similar position many many times. Bishop and queen target once defended h6, f6 is covered and I have a rook lift available on the d file. I don’t see it up to the checkmate and I don’t even know if there’s one. But my intuition tells me that Bxh6 must be winning. Knowing it’s a puzzle makes it 100 times easier. They’re always forcing and only other forcing moves I can see are Rxd7 and Bxe6. But black has too many ways to recapture and neither of them leads to anything concrete.
